5-Star DE Bryan Bresee leads the pack in 247sports’ list of top-247 prospects
The NCAA Tournament starts today—but that doesn’t mean football fades from the headlines.
Noted recruiting website 247sports laid out their top-247 prospects for the 2020 recruiting class on Wednesday. At the top of that list was a strong-side defensive end, one that early predictors point to the Ohio State Buckeyes being an early leader for where he’ll commit to.
Bresee leads the way
Bryan Bresee (Damascus, MD / Damascus) is that DE, and he’s highly sought. In addition to being the No. 1 prospect on 247sports’ board for 2020, 23 other schools have made offers to try and get the Maryland star. Florida State, Georgia, Michigan and Penn State are just a handful of the top-tier programs that have already made it known that they want Bresee to go to their respective program.
At the beginning of March, the 6-foot-5 defenseman made unofficial visits to Georgia and Clemson—two schools that made this past season’s College Football Playoff. In April, a couple other unofficial visits are on the books, according to his 247sports profile page, with those visits being to Wisconsin and Notre Dame.
Already, there are five predictions in his 247sports crystal ball, with four of those pointing to the Buckeyes; the other vote belongs to in-state, Big Ten program Maryland. Even though Maryland is on the radar for Bresee, a Twitter graphic was retweeted by the Damascus standout, and it’s very OSU centric.

There’s still plenty of time left before he has to make a commitment, but in the early going, things are looking good for the Scarlet and Gray.
Buford (GA) star SG gets that Buckeye offer
While Chris Holtmann and the basketball Buckeyes are in Boise, Idaho, for their tournament game against South Dakota State, an offer was sent out to one of the top shooting guards in the 2019 class.
Four-star Marcus Watson (Buford, GA / Buford) was the recipient of the offer, and he made it known via Twitter.

According to the 247sports composite, Watson is the No. 11 SG, No. 7 prospect in Georgia and the No. 87 prospect in the class. As things stand right now, 15 offers have made their way to the 6-foot-6 Peach State product; some of the offers include in-state programs Georgia and Georgia Tech, but NCAA Tournament teams Florida, Tennessee and Clemson have also made offers, too.
So far, there are only two predictions that have been cast on where Watson will eventually end up—and both are for Georgia Tech. This belief fits, as Watson made two unofficial visits to the Yellow Jackets in as many months.
But, if tournament success comes to the Buckeyes, could that be enough to gain interest from this Georgia prospect?
The Recruiting Guru at it again
SB Nation’s own Bud Elliott was out on the recruiting trail in Florida over the weekend, and has spent the early part of this week writing up what he saw. In yesterday’s recruiting roundup, you read about some of the 2019 prospects that the Buckeyes are after.
Today, it’s about the 2020 stars.
Aydin Henningham (Boynton Beach, FL / Deerfield Beach) was one of the prospects Elliott covered. Henningham, a wide receiver, has over 15 overs, and is being heavily recruited by the Florida schools. Here’s what Elliott had to say about him:
He is not the biggest, nor the fastest, but he makes tough catches, knows how to get open, and does the little things right. Florida, LSU, and Ohio State have offered. Henningham is a serious student and told me he is interested in hearing from Stanford.
WR Marcus Rosemy (Fort Lauderdale, FL / St. Thomas Aquinas) was also included as one of the football prospects to watch out for. Here’s one of his catches:
He did WHAT?!?!

Just by looking at this video, Rosemy has game. Elliott was able to talk to someone who has seen Rosemy in action at St. Thomas Aquinas:
He has a good understanding of setting up routes for someone his age, and he plucks the ball well. I spoke with someone who has watched him at Aquinas, and they said the only thing he needs is confidence. He is certainly coming into his own, and claims early offers from Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas.
Those are definitely two names we’ll keep hearing about throughout their recruitment.
