Re: The NCAA is implementing a new rule for the 2025-26 academic year that limits basketball rosters to 15 players, including walk-ons, and there's a push to "grandfather" current walk-ons, meaning they would retain their roster spots through their eligibility.

Just sayin': I'll say Meechie is gone and possibility Braylen Nash will just be grandfathered in as a walk on; so (even if nobody else leaves) Ohio State could have 4 open spots on the 2025/2026 roster.

QB Tavien St. Clair (Official Thread)

College football rankings: Every top-25 team's highest-rated newcomer from recruiting trail, transfer portal

These roster additions will define the 2025 college football season

3. Ohio State Buckeyes: QB Tavien St. Clair (100) — The embarrassment of riches in the Ohio State quarterback room continues. St. Clair joined the in-state program as the No. 4 overall player and No. 3 quarterback in the 2025 cycle. A redshirt season appears likely, though, as he waits his turn behind projected starter Julian Sayin.

Just sayin': A player they project to be redshirted doesn't seem like a good choice to "highest rated newcomer to define the 2025 season".
I agree. Beside Just and Dakota, who do they have? TSC will be #3 unless they sign a transfer.

2026 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

https://ohiostate.rivals.com/news/elbert-hill-visits-ohio-state-buckeyes-offer-st-louis-linebacker

Bowen, Charles Dickey and Marcus Johnson are all going to be involved in recruiting offensive linemen for Ohio State moving forward and the message for the Brede now is just to continue growing his relationship with that trio until the Buckeyes can see him work out in person.

"They said they really like me, they like my size and versatility to play tackle and guard, how I play," he said. "He told me he is very close to offering but he wants to see me work out at my school in the next couple weeks. They are looking for improvement in hip mobility and just watching me move."

Higher Ed. firings and resignations

Funny you mentioned that, Jagdaddy. When time came for daughter to look at colleges, looked at the school demographics, to see what percentage of Asian/Americans were there. And back in the day, in SF, Asians fought for, and won, a guaranteed percentage of enrollment at the 'best' (Lincoln) HS in SF. In later years, that percentage became an upper limit, and the Asian population argued for getting rid of that percentage. Apropos of exactly nothing.
I'm just kind of curious as to whether no "DEI" and "only meritocracy" can or will be read by one or more "elite" institutions to prohibit inclusion of less-qualified white kids who happen to be multi-generational legacies with big donor parents, and, if so, what the feds will do should such big donors complain to them about it.
