Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

OL in the transfer portal sets a visit date with the Ohio State football team

A transfer portal offensive lineman has set a visit date with the Buckeyes.

The Ohio State football program hasn't been able to get any transfers from the Spring transfer portal yet. Even though the portal has been open for a week, they haven't been able to get any guys to add to the roster. At the same time, they have had many players leave, either.

After the season was over, the Buckeyes grabbed a couple of offensive linemen from the transfer portal. Both might start, but one definitely will start. It doesn't look like they are done trying to bring guys in because an offensive lineman has set a visit date with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Orion Irving sets visit date with the Ohio State football team

Orion Irving, a transfer from Sam Houston State, is one of the players that Ohio State has offered a scholarship to. He has now set up a visit date in Columbus, according to 247Sports' Bill Kuerlic. Irving will visit the Buckeyes next week as Ohio State tries to lock up some recruits.

Irving was a 2023 All-Freshman performer in his conference and started ten games last season. He is someone who would certainly provide Ohio State some depth up front, which they are clearly trying to amass. Ohio State may not have an orientation of starters that they like up front quite yet.

2026 OH CB Elbert Hill (USC Verbal)

I think money talks louder than any fan, or even current state of a program. That's just the facts, OSU has known for a while that this would be a BIG battle over heart vs wallet. OSU is only going to offer so much for a HS player. They've dealt with over several cycles and still have managed to land top CB talent. OSU will be fine with or without Hill. If USC or Oregon want to offer an insane amount to land Hill, then have at it, there's still plenty of HS talent that wants to play for BIA and be coached by one of the best in CFB.
Kind of figured and I will never fault a kid for their decision, especially in the new world of NIL. We have no idea what they are dealing with off the field. And I do not know what I would have done if someone offered me high six to seven-figures at 17 years old.

Hopefully he signs with the Bucks, but more importantly hopefully he has a solid college career and achieves his goals.

Well, certainly seems to be playing coy. Between the USC posts, and Oregon bragging they're gonna bag another Ohio 5*, must admit that more than a little concerned. Oregon's DBs are as deep as the Buckeyes are, so it's not like he's stepping into a certain starting position. Don't know much about USC's DBs, but see more players portaling out than committing. Anyway, in two years will be a large turnover in the D backfield, so hopefully he's in the fold to enjoy it. Go Bucks!
