I didn't pay super close to their individual play, but I thought both made some good plays. Don't think it has to be an either/or matter

According to Pro Football Focus, Alford was Ohio State’s second-best player overall against Ball State behind Sayin, earning an elite 91.6 grade compared to his quarterback’s 93.1. The second-year linebacker was a surprise starter in the Buckeyes’ 4-3 package alongside Payton Pierce and Christian Alliegro, and he made the most of his opportunity with five tackles and an interception. Alford earned a 91.0 coverage grade from PFF, along with marks of 78.4 as a run defender and 81.7 as a tackler.
