2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments - NCAA: no wins taken away, no postseason ban

Can those package deal offers for consumer products and free tickets be far away?

No probably not, when the hammer comes down and I expect that the new scUM President and the Board of Regents will want to "clean house". Sherrone Moore will be proven to be a cheat and a liar; they will need to bring some sort of credibility to the program,. Sherrone Moore (and probably Warde Manuel) will be fired "for cause", there will be a few years of no post season play, many of their better players will transfer, they will hire a new head coach who will hire new assistants, and (needless to say) attendance will suffer for a few years too.

2025 January through Fall Camp BMW Thread

A reminder - Our last three NC's were won with dual threat QB's:
2002 - Krenzel
2014 - Barrett / Jones
2025 - Howard

Just sayin': Probably in reality all 9 National Championships were won with a duel threat QB and/or a just Heisman Trophy RB:

Year Quarterback(s)
2024 Will Howard
2014 Cardale Jones
2002 Craig Krenzel
1970 Rex Kern
1968 Rex Kern
1961 Bill Mrukowski *
1957 Frank Kremblas **
1954 Dave Leggett ***
1942 Les Horvath
* William Mrukowski played 3 seasons for Ohio State. He threw for 325 yards and 1 touchdown.

** His career numbers at Ohio State were not very high because of how often Woody Hayes ran the football. Kremblas threw just 95 times in his career, completing 36 for 618 yards, three TDs and four interceptions. As a runner, he carried it 145 times for 466 yards and eight TDs.

*** Dave Leggett had more yards rushing than passing.

Leggett was most famous for his play in the 1954 Michigan game. Ohio State's undefeated season was on the line, with the score tied 7–7 in the fourth quarter. Michigan was on the Ohio State one yard line with a fourth down and went for it. Michigan pitched the ball to the right and on defense Leggett was a great safety and it was only him and the Michigan ball carrier at the end zone and as the Michigan back leaped for the end zone Leggett went for his legs and flipped the Michigan man over to stop him short of the end zone. With the ball on Ohio State's own one-yard-line, Leggett led the Buckeyes on a drive for the eventual game-winning touchdown...8D

2025 Season: Are You Ready For Some Football?

Julian Sayin will set records, and 3 other bold 2025 Ohio State football predictions

With the Ohio State football season just three weeks away, we give you some bold predictions for the 2025 season.

The Ohio State football team will start its season in just three weeks. Coming off a national championship, they are expecting to compete for a national title again his year. The coaches think so, and they have them ranked as the second-best team in the country.

As we get closer to the season opener against Texas, we will give you some bold predictions. We'll start with Julian Sayin, who is the projected starting quarterback for the Buckeyes this season.

1. Julian Sayin will set the Ohio State single-season touchdown passing record

No one in Ohio State football history was more prolific at throwing touchdowns than Dwayne Haskins back in 2018. He threw for 50 touchdowns in his only season as the starting quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Sayin is going to throw for more touchdowns than that.

2. Jeremiah Smith will win the Heisman Trophy

Only two other wide receivers have won the Heisman Trophy. Ryan Day coached against one of them in the 2020 national championship, as he watched Devonta Smith torch his defense. Smith is arguably more talented than Smith, and he's just a sophomore.

3. The Ohio State football team finally ends the losing streak to TTUN

After unlocking a more aggressive play style on offense in the College Football Playoff, Day knows what needs to be done. He will no longer be stubborn and try to win the rushing battle in The Game. He will make sure that Sayin spreads the ball out to the incredible playmakers he has on the outside.

4. Ohio State will win back-to-back national championships

This team might not have a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail, but the current roster is still one of the most talented rosters in all of college football. Defensively, there might be some issues early on in the season as Matt Patricia tries to adjust to the college game.

Once that early trial period is over, Caleb Downs and the rest of the Buckeyes are going to figure out how to slow down opposing offenses. Smith won't be stopped, and Ohio State will hoist the championship trophy for the second straight year.

Football Coach/Staffer Josh Boyer (Official Thread)

How new defensive coach Josh Boyer will help the Ohio State football team

The Ohio State football team hired a new defensive coach. Here's how he will help them.

.
.
It's certainly strange for the Buckeyes to make a hire just three weeks before they take on the Longhorns in the first game of the season, but this move is only additive. He won't have that much say in the defense, and he will only help coach the team a little harder.

Boyer has a history with Patricia, as he coached with Patricia for several years while he was with the Patriots. He hasn't coached since 2022, which is a big concern. That's why it's good that he shouldn't have a say in how the defense is called this season.

With the new rules allowing college teams to hire as many coaches to be on the sidelines as they want, this move can only be positive for the Buckeyes. They are expecting him to just help with the secondary, as well as coaching up defensive players to be better.

This is a low-risk, high-reward move to make, even if the Buckeyes hired him just a few weeks before they open up the 2025 season. They feel like they should still be very good on the defensive side of the ball, even without Boyer. He will only help that cause.
