The 1999 team is also notable for the fact that they turned around completely from being a single-digit winning team to a single-digit losing team that made the Final Four. I'm not sure that ever happened at another power conference team before. 8-22 in 1998, 27-9 in 1999. Miami FL this year had a huge turnaround (7-24 to 26-9) but it's not quite the same. With the transfer portal now, you can rebuild an entire team in one offseason, but no one did that in 1999.
