Airport annoyances

Pigeons board a Delta flight, causing pandemonium and 2 trips back to the gate

A passenger was seen using his jacket in an attempt to catch one of the pigeons.

A Delta Air Lines flight was delayed twice on Saturday after two pigeons caused chaos onboard.

The first bird began flying around the cabin shortly after boarding, prompting the aircraft to return to the gate. Ground crew removed it, but as the plane taxied out for takeoff, a second pigeon took flight, forcing the flight back once again.

A video filmed by passenger Tom Caw and obtained by ABC News shows a man attempting to catch one of the pigeons using his jacket. The unusual incident happened aboard Delta Flight 2348, a regularly scheduled flight from Minneapolis to Madison, Wisconsin.

Delta has since issued an apology for the disruption.

NHL (Official Thread)

Carolina has lost 15 in a row in the conference finals. I’m positive it’s going to be 16 after tonight. The forechecking from the Panthers is too damn good right now.
Crazy how things turn.

Florida never got the forechecking game going in game 4, and Game 5 has been totally dominated by Carolina so far. If Bob was a lesser goalie, this would be a 5-0 blowout right now.

tOSU Recruiting Discussion

considering the economic NIL climate for OTs I’m at a point where Essentially won’t expect commitments for first year players that are highly recruited. Looks like tje program would rather allocate those first year dollars to positions that have higher probability for high impact within years 1-2 instead of having to wait until Y3.

That’s assuming that’s the actual strategy within the program. I won’t throw shade at Bowen if he doesn’t land Ojo I guess is my point — unless it’s for a reason outside of dollars and it’s germane to our recruiting technique or his approach.

Nice group though, looking forward to hearing about how it goes.

2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

Say the SEC does start to break away. But the Big Ten hesitates. Do any teams in the Big Ten leave to join the rebels, or is conference loyalty high enough that schools would rather stay in the Big Ten?
This is kind of an “unknown” at this point….to date, the Big 10 hasn’t really given a shit about TV contracts and the $$$ coming in from football, like the SEC is hyper-focused on.

The Big 10, through its AAU collaboration (research institutions….not the AAU for HS athletes) has generated so much $$$ in grants it has dwarfed TV $$$.

I think the wild card here is a focus by federal gov’t to reduce spend on universities. I’m curious how this will impact funding of associations like the AAU. This is not a political post, as I don’t have a strong opinion one way or the other on how federal dollars should be spent on things like AAU.

It’s definitely something to watch though,,..,a decrease in grant funding is a negative for the Big 10 in terms of leverage it currently holds over the SEC (and all other conferences).

UNLV Rebels (Official Thread)

Just like the real world, it's up to you to make a place they don't want to leave.

The coaches, by and large, are really not impressing me in this new era. They seem to want to return to the days of indentured servitude from the players so the coaches can get rich...err I mean they seem to really care about the condition of the sport. Yeah. That's the ticket, for the good of the sport.
Their hypocrisy for the lack of a better word is… hilarious
