PG Bruce Thornton (All-B1G, All-American, 4X Captain, tOSU all time scoring leader)

Imagine being an OSU "fan" and this is your Bruce Thornton take today (to be fair, he does say he's a member of the "lunatic fringe"):

Maybe Big Body Paul should just be a body. Yeah, I know, but I pull no punches. That shit is ridiculous

2025-2026 College Basketball General Discussion

Hard to believe, but Cincinnati has fired Coach Wes Miller. Also hard to believe, he had been there for 5 seasons.
Juggalos will never get past those two NC's 60+ years ago and then the drunk getting them to a single final four 30+ years ago. They think that makes them some kind of blueblood.

2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Looking at the stats, it seems that whether Juni and Tilly have a good game offensively generally determines whether OSU wins or loses.

Games this season where Juni's offensive rating is 100+, OSU has gone 17-4.
Games where Juni's offensive rating is below 100, OSU has gone 3-6, and two of the wins were narrow Ws vs. ND & @ Northwestern.
He was out 3 games where OSU went 1-2.

When Tilly has an offensive rating of 100+, OSU is 18-6.
Games where Tilly's offensive rating was below 100, OSU has gone 2-5, and the 2 wins were narrow @ Northwestern & vs. WVU.
He was out 2 games where OSU went 1-1.

Bracketology and Selection Sunday Discussion

Some of these bracketologists really this clueless on how this works ?

This guy really has Michigan and Ohio State in the same 4 team bracket in the Midwest ?

It is against the rules for Ohio State to play Michigan in the first 3 rounds since they played 3 times.

It is simple if you played once you can't play in round 1
If you played twice you can't play rounds 1 or 2
If you played 3 times you can't play until at least the Elite 8

(2) Midwest (Chicago, Fri./Sun.)

Buffalo (Thurs./Sat.)

(1) Michigan (Big Ten)
(16) UMBC (AE)

(8) Clemson
▲(9) Ohio State

2027 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Pretty certain that HR would object strenuously if the Exit Interview were to be 'leaked' to the newsies. Confidential and all. At least when was done. Certainly don't know if that's done anymore, probably not, as you opine. Was speaking from 'a fly on the wall' perspective. In the FWIW category, was always under the impression that tOSU never promised a recruit a starting spot, x amount of plays, etc. when they were wooing a recruit to play at The Ohio State. Or maybe I've simply forgotten, or wish my university was above that sort of thing. 'All we can promise is that you will have an opportunity to compete for playing time' sort of thing.....Guess these recruits might need a 'bullshit' detector when listening to these recruiters spin a yarn or two....Thanks for the thoughts, kinda put in perspective for me. Thanks.

Bracketology and Selection Sunday Discussion

I was thinking more along the lines of an outside shot at a #10, but you're right it is unpredictable. They may tweak seeds because of conflicts, avoiding rematches and various things such as BYU not being able to play on Sunday, so obviously it isn't a straightforward ranking necessarily.

Yea I really wouldn't be shocked about anything between a 7 and 10.

I think we still have an outside shot of the committee putting us as a 7. This seems like a very unpredictable year.

2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Where the Ohio State basketball team will be seeded in the NCAA Tournament

Coming into the game against TTUN, Joe Lunardi of ESPN has the Buckeyes as an eight-seed. Losing to the number-one seed in the Big Ten shouldn't hurt their seeding much, especially by falling by so few points. They will likely sit around that eight or nine-seed line.

Even though Ohio State lost, this game showed that they can compete with anyone in the country. They also had to play this game without Taison Chatman, who was injured in the Iowa game. Brandon Noel also played his first game in two months, so that gives them another player to put in the rotation if they want.

Ohio State freshman Khary Wilder already looks massive at spring ball

On the official spring roster, Wilder is listed at 6-4, 248 pounds. A stud defensive end/pass-rusher, Wilder saw his recruiting rankings explode, which eventually led to him landing his coveted fifth star from Rivals. That alone had the Ohio State faithful pretty dang jacked up.

Out of Junipero Serra High in California, Wilder had 28 offers to his name throughout his recruitment, taking official visits to Ohio State and UCLA. The draw of potentially staying close to home for his college ball was on his mind, but competing for national titles with the Buckeyes is tough to turn down.

Wilder also developed a close bond with defensive line coach Larry Johnson, with the veteran assistant helping to lead the way with OSU's recruiting efforts. Matt Patricia, who just landed a monster raise from Ryan Day and Ross Bjork, was also involved.

Wilder is an incredibly versatile athlete and the fact that he's getting a head start on his college career is great news for everyone. The freshman is going to push for immediate playing time and with him making noise early on for Ohio State, it's clear Day is going to put him in a spot to make a difference.

The defense for Ohio State is considered a major strength leading up to next season, but the losses of studs to the NFL is going to hurt. Luckily, Day and Co. reloaded via the portal and with some big-name freshmen too. Wilder is on that list and his potential has no limits moving forward.

Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith signs off on the hype for this exciting freshman

Ohio State's best player is as excited about this player as everyone else is.

Spring practice is fully underway for the Ohio State football program. The goal for Ryan Day is to find a way to integrate the 51 new players on the roster. He has to figure out how to replace talent from a defense that was the best in the country a year ago. There might be four Buckeyes taken in the first round of the draft from the defense.

Offensively, the Ohio State Buckeyes have a lot of talent returning. They bring back four of their starting offensive linemen, only losing their least effective one from a year ago. They also bring back the best player in the country in Jeremiah Smith, who has promised to be even better.

Smith has been around long enough to see a ton of talent come through Columbus. He is co-signing some of the hype that has been coming out of spring practice for freshman running back Legend Bey, who has been one of the most impressive players so far.

Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith loves what he's seen from Legend Bey

Bey has been turning heads while he has been working out with both running backs and receivers. Smith let everyone know that he likes what he's seen from Bey so far.
