SF Brandon Noel (Official Thread)

Well, Noel got in for a few minutes. Not entirely certain whose minutes he took, probably Bynum's, but from what I saw he played OK. Not entirely certain he's 'game ready' yet, but was encouraged by what I saw. Twas nice to see both he and Tilly in there together, but do want to see more high-low pivot play. Hard to say, but gives the Buckeyes another weapon to utilize when get into foul trouble. PS, Bynum's 'coming out' party has been very successful, and don't want to see that diminished.

Bracketology and Selection Sunday Discussion

Would imagine that the 'real' bracketologists are going to get tired of placing B10 teams, as can see up to 8-10 in the Dance. Always thought that the goal was to spread out the teams amongs the four brackets in a fair and equal manner. The same way used to when the ACC was king of the hardwood. But guess my memory might be a tad fuzzy. How about tOSU just win one at a time......Go Bucks!

2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Thought that tOSU played very well against Xichigan. Had we made some of our usual points around the basket, Thorton and Devin, then might have prevailed. Credit the skunkbears 7'3" center for being intimidating. Especially proud of the 'never quit' motto. Refreshing to see Noel get some minutes, but didn't see enough to tell whether he's 'game ready' or not. Also, the 'bench points' stat is a bit misleading when Diebs is using a short bench. Anyone else wondering if Cupps is holding back on shooting? Keep thinking he's holding back, so when comes to crunch time, he's baiting opponents to lay off him, and then he'll pop the game winner. Probably just a fantasy....

2027 OH OL Davis Seaman (Verbal Offer)

Certainly agree that Indiana reset the world of college expectations. Who woulda thunk that kids, mostly from JMU, could come in and beat the best of the college world. I'd love it if someone (else) would do the work to quantify how 5* OL do from HS to pro draft. Probably a Pantoni has had his staff do this, which fomented strategy to save the loot, and maybe 'buy' two 4* OL, and train them up. Probably a higher Return on Investment over the long run.

BEST BUCKEYE FOR tOSU PRESIDENCY

Best Buckeye was saved from a thankless job filled with the daily conflict of contending and opposing viewpoints. I don't know Ravi Bellamkonda, but he appears to be someone of extremely high intellect (Research profile) and to understand how the higher education game is played at leading universities (e.g., MIT, Duke, Emory).

There will be criticism about the speed and lack of university-wide consultation. I suspect he will settle in quickly and we might look back in a year with a thumbs up. I understand not wanting to go through a long search process and stumbling around after a post-appointment learning curve. This appointment is preceded by two short-term presidencies and you have a highly respected scholar in an expanding field who has been serving in his high-level OSU administrative post. He also will be aware of the intensely local cultural guardrails.

Personally, I would not be surprised if he is a great success.
Same here. He was the best we could have done. An extended national search would have come under the influence of both Wexner and the state legislature, and who knows what those two entities would have dropped on our doorstep.
