Week 3 Game Discussion Thread

I threw my head back in such a violent surrender cobra when he fumbled that I cracked it open on the ledge behind me. Almost needed stitches (not a snitch).

I hope that butterfingered motherfucker is managing 3rd shift in an all night bowling alley somewhere
No worries I hear Alba likes em rough!

Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

I noticed Joe seemed to hold onto the ball too long in the 2nd half last week, as the Browns were mauling the OLine. One play at their own 5 it looked like he had JChase wide open for a screen to the left, but just took the sack. Then today they start playing like the Bengals again with Browning (not nearly as wealthy as Joe) and scored 3 td's.

I don't know how to process the possibility that a backup might be playing better than the $50M/year starting QB. But again, I didn't see any of it. (Browning did throw 3 int's - oops.)

RB Lamar "Bo" Jackson (Official Thread)

I’m not sure who I’d compare Jackson to. Maybe Hyde but less of a bruiser and more athletic. Looks to be a solid receiver for a freshman.

Peoples reminds me of a limited Henderson. Not the same physical tools but shows impressive burst and change of direction. Needs time to develop vision.
Hyde was the closest I could think of, but another player he starts to remind of as well: Maurice Clarett.

Peoples is reminding me Of Lydell Ross. He does have burst and change of direction, but no vision and direct enough in how he runs. Peoples, like Ross has the uncanny ability to get the ball and run right into the defender and get a nice 2yd gain consistently

Notre Dame (football only discussion)

They'll still squeeze into the playoffs. Schedule is a joke now outside of USC.

Notre Dame is 0-2; one more loss and they are probably eliminated from the CFPs. No 3 loss team has ever gotten into the CFPs. Here's where being an independent gives them a big advantage. The highest ranked team they have remaining on their schedule is #25 USC at home. They could very easily run the table and still get in with 2 losses. Being an independent they don't play in a conference championship game; which would be presumably against a tougher opponent and possibility resulting in another loss.

QB1 Julian Sayin (National Champion)

I mean judging by how other QBs have played around the country and the OSU Defense I'd say even a performance like this from him could win a title lolz
Not yet. I would agree with that if he had eaten that sack. He needs to have it pounded into his head that he has the best defense. If you have to take a sack, take a sack. I was fine with him missing a few reads and letting the ball go late a few times, but you can NOT turn the ball over like that.

The only way teams can score, is lucky hailmary type passes, or if the offense turns the ball over. I will be shocked if the OSU offense has to score more than 28 to win a game this year.
