Week 1 Game Discussion Thread

Fuck Michigan.

For those of us who’ve been watching UM football for decades, this isn’t all that surprising.

I think back to The Game 2002 when Michigan got one final play with :01 left on the clock. Where is our homer clock operator? Why didn’t that game just end on the previous play? Because I knew if the situation had been reversed and Michigan had the lead in Ann Arbor, the Buckeyes wouldn’t have had one second left on the clock and one more chance to win.

That’s just the way it is. (Shout out to Will Allen.)

meh....at least that was a legitimate clock....the whistles blowing the play dead really started with 2 on the clock...

This was horseshit.

There needs to be an immediate investigation. Big Ten money was in play on this one.. Don’t tell me sports aren’t fixed. Been this way for the 50 years I’ve been watching. Maybe not every team, game, player, ref, but it absolutely happens. Too much gambling involved
Agree on the investigation. We should get an answer around 2030. It will prove that the game was over but scUM still gets the win. Don't worry though, the clock keeper will be fined 30 million dollars.

So here is what I don't get- this isn't fixed the way sports books would want it to be fixed.

Taking a heavy favorite like tsun on the ML as part of a multi leg parlay is what A TON of casual sports bettors do. This would have killed millions of parlays.

There is no way this worked out in the books favor

Agreed. When I’m lashing out about rigged or fix, I’m being (mostly) facetious.

You obviously can’t “fix” Underwood making that pass, a guy coming down with a Hail Mary and Western Michigan playing along. That’s not how it works and makes no sense for the books.

This just seems like plain ol’ Conference intervention where they wanted to give Michigan one last chance.

And somehow those bastards came up with the luckiest river card ever to win the hand.

Also seems too low probability for bets. If it was allowing them time to kick a FG it’d make some sense.
