Neal Shipley (PGA Golf Pro)

Appears that the pros like the courses that give them a 'putting contest'. With numbers at -16 etc, they like rolling them in. Heard that when they play the ATT, they didn't like Poppy Hills, as there were a bunch of 'buried elephants' in the greens. That's why the Open courses, -6 seems to win. Tougher rough, holes hidden behind bunkers, stuff that would be a living h*** for golfers like you and me. Here's hoping Neal takes this setback as a challenge, and works his fanny off to correct, enhance his game. Is Moldama (sp) Neal's teammate still on the level 2? Thanks.

2027 OH LB Brayton Feister (Oregon Verbal)

Different scenarios though. He was brought in as a FB, Feister is a RB, who will want to be in the rotation. Boren was the only FB. And he had 12att for 25yds in 3yrs playing RB, Feister will transfer after 1 year if he has that many carries in a season. And in the NIL era, Boren isn't commanding close to the money Feister is

I think the ship has sailed on Feister, as other teams have started to up their NIL deals as well. And I wouldn't want OSU to get in a bidding war with Oregon over player they don't see as a Plan A type of player.
In this NIL world I would love to see a true Iso FB on tOSU's roster. There has to be some 3 star Ohio boys itching to be Buckeyes who could do it.

Kansas City Chiefs (official thread)

The wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy was shot Sunday night at the couple's home in Virginia, sources told ESPN.

According to sources, Mia Bieniemy, 57, has been hospitalized. Police in Loudoun County, Virginia, confirmed that a person was being treated for "serious injuries" but did not disclose the person's identity.

Eric Bieniemy was with the Chiefs earlier Sunday in St. Joseph, Missouri, at the campus of Missouri Western State for the team's second practice of training camp.

Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Leah Pau said Monday that police arrived at a home located on the 20000 block of Northpark Drive in Ashburn, Virginia, at 7:32 p.m. ET on Sunday.

The Chiefs said in a statement they are "aware of the incident involving Eric Bieniemy's family," but did not provide further details.

Bieniemy rejoined the Chiefs earlier this year as their offensive coordinator, a position he previously held from 2018 to 2022.

See, those arguments at least make sense. Thank you for that. Cheers!

USC Trojans (official thread)

Lincoln left OU because he didn't want to compete in the SEC

NIL "happens"

USC is in a significantly less competitive position than Oklahoma.
OU, BTW beat Alabama in consecutive years, beat #1 Texas in 2024, made the playoff....

Oklahoma isn't perfect, but at least they have an identity and structure and financial support under Venables. Grass isn't always greener some would say.

Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

The one few topics I agreed with Colin Cowherd about is that he said early on in NIL that the B1G would overcome the SEC because has all their programs in small college towns with limited big company’s and not nearly as much wealthy alumni. Outside of Dallas, Houston and Atlanta; the B1G is in every major media market in America

1). You're not wrong and neither is CC.

2). Waiting for the Tech sector of California to give SC and UCLA the boost they need to get things going.

QB1 Julian Sayin (All B1G, B1G Frosh of Year, All American, National Frosh of Year, National Champion)

I understand the polar opposite scouting reports to be honest.

Part of me really wonders if the whole , slow vs fast thing last year was because Day knew from the jump he had to really over protect his QB. He didn't go faster because his QB couldn't go faster.

Then I see him be hyper accurate and I just don't know.

This year will tell us.
I lean this way too. I don’t have the stats to back it up, but I’m pretty sure we saw similar with CJ in his first year. If Day knows he has a guy for two years, at least, I think he’s inclined to focus on development far more in the first year. Don’t lose games in the first year and then go win games in the second? Hope that’s the case.
