They basically traded wins and losses between Western *ichigan and Iowa. If all is right, Western *ichigan gets that win. And I can see how someone might argue that the only reason Iowa got that win is because of that injury. The Iowa QB has said they were running a fake spike on that play, which the video seems to confirm. Who knows if it results in a TD, and obviously the injury TO helps in setting up a play......but he wasn't about to spike it and end the game on some nonsense technicality, they were running a real play there.

True. Tressel was more willing to take on projects than Urban and Day. DJK was a fairly well known player in Youngstown. I just saw a post on FB last week about how he lit up Warren Harding. So he fit the typical Tressel profile.

Those were also the Pryor years, where Tressel really recruited national talent hard, than recruiting in state gems.

Kid was a solid player.

Ohio State needed to add size and versatility this offseason. The Buckeyes did just that and then some.
Having more size across the board, but especially among the players who will play the most, was one of the Buckeyes' biggest priorities, along with adding more versatility. It's been brought up every time Jake Diebler has spoken to the media this offseason, and rightfully so.
"When we evaluated last year, there were a couple things in terms of versatility that we had to address," the head coach said Wednesday. "One was more playmaking. ... And we needed to get bigger.
"This team's different. We have a chance to really be big at the wing and both forward spots for the majority of the game. We have the ability to go a little bit smaller if we want to, but we've really focused on being bigger, and when you look at the Big Ten, that's been a recipe for success. We just haven't had the chance to cook with that for these two years. ... We just have so many guys that have positional size at the wing on down, that it allows us to do some different things. So we try to take full advantage of that."
With the addition of nine newcomers, including six who are bigger than the players they essentially replaced on the roster, OSU certainly added plenty of size both in the recruiting class and from the transfer portal.
