Cincinnati Reds (2026 Season Thread)

that comp is pretty crazy:

The Donkey suffered from being a man ahead of his time.

In today's baseball his value would have been properly identified.

Instead he had that fucking idiot Marty and his 'I played baseball when I was a kid so I know the game" mob of bigger morons he channeled still jerking off to Pete Rose posters and talking about batting average.

Utah Utes (official thread)

I think fans would definitely give a rat's ass when they tune into Prime TV to watch the Columbus Buckeyes play the Tuscaloosa Crimson Tide. I know it is basically minor league football today, but it is still called college football for now. Do the alumni groups continue to support? Do the Wal-Mart fans continue to buy up all of those t-shirts? I think a super league or disconnecting from the schools will be the death of it all.

but that's the whole point of licensing deal. It would be the Ohio State Buckeyes vs the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Nothing has to change about the on field product by restructuring legal ownership.

Your favorite NFL team (whoever it is) isn't the NFL team name in legal structure. It's "The Cincinnati Bengals Inc" or something like that.

You don't change the name on the uniform

Notre Dame (football only discussion)

Maybe this will catalyze the ACC/NCAA etc NOT to write 'sweetheart' language into the play-off protocols. "ND will be included in the playoffs if they are rated #10 or above". Pretty certain I paraphrased that. Anyway, although 'they' said that not playing a conference title game wouldn't hurt a team (pointed at ND), it's clear that it did. Bama got steam-rolled by Georgia, but as a 9-3 team, still made the play-offs (!), but ND did not. That would be my bone of contention. And no, don't really want the Domers in the B10, but I'm an old guy, and recollect that the suitor B10 has been jilted by ND forever. Crazy question, but does anyone know how the viewership has been (up?) since the B10 absorbed the Pac12 four?
I don't know about overall viewership, but I do know that Ohio State, Alabama and (maybe) the cheaters beat ND in ratings and viewers every year. Domers are usually 4th or 5th. It's not the 60s anymore with every Catholic family in the country caring about Notre Dame.

Georgia Bulldogs (2021-2022 National Champions & Excellent Drivers)

Georgia cancels future Home and Home games vs. Louisville and NC State

With the movement from 8 conference games to 9 conference games - the Dawgs had too many opponents in future schedules.
The Louisville series has been cancelled.

NC State has been cancelled because 2033 would have featured three OOC ACC games instead of Georgia and the SEC's agreement to schedule Sunbelt teams on a rotating basis (like Florida, heh).

Future opponents Ohio State, FSU and Clemson are not at risk of cancellation as they currently have the appropriate number of OOC games for their schedule.
Smart.

If they’re licensing the name, then I would still see it being the Ohio Stste Buckeyes and the Alabama Crimson Tide

The real question is if a certain team is having a bad year, can you buy a Coca Cola product and get a free ticket to Saturday's game?
