Ohio State vs. #13 Illinois, Tuesday Dec. 9, 730pm EST, Peacock

Illinois outscored OSU at the foul line by 14 points, won by 8 points. The most efficient place to score is the foul line. Analytics should tell you that you want the advantage of scoring more foul shots than your opponent, and yet here we are year after year, watching OSU foul their opponents and lose at the foul line in close games. I'm not saying that's the only reason they lost, but clearly to me one of the biggest things that needs to change in this program is they need more players who can play defense without fouling, and on the flipside are able to draw contact and convert at the stripe.

Utah Utes (official thread)

No idea on timing but that's what I'd do and how I'd do it. Central Ohio sports ventures LLC or whatever, playing every game as The Ohio State Buckeyes. The University gets a big share of the revenue as a licensing deal. Name, mascot, stadium the works.

Players get a GI Bill like voucher to go to school there at some point and free lifetime healthcare. Let the quality of the education and health care be a differentiator for talent acquisition.
Do you think this would be successful? Honestly asking.

Notre Dame (football only discussion)

Have you seen ND's schedule for 2026? I'm not saying they're trying to rig their way to not losing any games, but their only true road games are @ Purdue, Syracuse and North Carolina. They have only 4 opponents that had a .500 record this season or better (Navy, Miami, SMU & USC), and none are true road games. Wisconsin, who had one of the worst records in the B1G this season, will be one of ND's toughest opponents away from home.

You could make the argument that it wasn’t even the most dominant 10 game winning streak in the state of Indiana in 2025

You could make the argument I gave Jessica Alba the 10 most satisfying minutes of her life.

You'd be just as wrong as the ND guy is but you could make the argument.

Cincinnati Reds (2026 Season Thread)

He'll be 33 right in the middle of the WBC in March.

His career more or less is the same as Adam Dunn (a few more homers maybe), but at least Dunn sorta played some defense.

Could you imagine paying Adam Dunn $30 million at season to hit .230 and strike out 200+ times?!

Marty's head just exploded

all joking aside, you aren't paying him 30MM a year to hit .230, you are paying him $30MM a year for having the 6th best wRC+ in baseball last year.
