Ohio State's projected depth chart: Defense​

What does Ohio State's projected depth chart look like with spring ball in the rear view mirror? We are going to take a stab at it today.​

Defensive End​

Starters: Caden Curry (6-3, 260, Sr.), Kenyatta Jackson (6-6, 258, 4Jr.)

Defensive Tackle​

OG Austin Siereveld (National Champion)

Speaking earlier in the spring, OSU head coach Ryan Day was asked if there could be a starting spot for Siereveld somewhere along the offensive line.

"I hope so, I hope that's his goal," Day said. "When you think about the guys who have come in that third year, a lot of those guys take the next step, and that's what we want with Austin. Usually, it's a good sign when you're an Iron Buckeye coming out of the winter.

"It's a great sign. We got done (with the playoff) on January 20th, and then you start up just a week later. But sometimes you can come in with a different demeanor, a different look in your eye, a different approach, and he's so far shown that look in his eye."

Tyler Bowen was hired from Virginia Tech to replace Justin Frye as the offensive line coach. He appreciates the fact that Siereveld can be a plug-and-play guy at nearly every O-line position.

"Austin's done a great job," Bowen said. "He's played both tackles this spring, both guards, played every position but center. It's a luxury if a guy can handle it, and he's certainly shown the ability to do that. I've been very impressed with him.

"Watching him on tape, he has very little missed assignments -- and that's in all four of those positions."

Nelson is the first Ohio State gymnast to win a national title since Alec Yodel won the NCAA championship in pommel horse in 2019.

The NCAA vault title caps off what was already a historic senior season for Nelson, who made world gymnastics history earlier in the season when he became the first gymnast ever to land two triple backs in the same floor routine.

Nelson earned a third-place NCAA finish in floor on Saturday in addition to his vault gold.

Nelson was one of two Buckeyes to earn All-American honors on Saturday along with Parker Thackston, who placed sixth in pommel horse.

Just finished watching the game. That team showed a lot of character to come back the way they did. Glad for all of them. Nice to see the B1G LAX trophy come to Columbus. It’s been a hot minute since they have had this kind of success.

Just keep winning this point. B1G tourney and then the NCAAs.
