2026 VA RB Savion Hiter (Verbal Offer)

It looks like TTUN is scared of Ohio State swooping this recruit from them

Based on a recent scholarship offer, it seems like Michigan is afraid the Ohio State football program is going to beat them for this recruit.

As spring starts to turn into summer, the Ohio State football team's recruiting efforts are starting to heat up. When camp season starts, that's when the Buckeyes start to accumulate more recruits. They still have quite a few top-level recruits that they are looking at.

One of those recruits is five-star running back Savion Hiter. Hiter is the best running back in the country and is from the state of Virginia. That's where TreVeyon Henderson is from, so the Buckeyes clearly have a track record of landing running backs from that area of the country.

One of the other teams that is going after Hiter is Michigan. He will be visiting TTUN on June 13th, but the Buckeyes will have him on campus next weekend. Based on a scholarship offer TTUN just sent out, it seems like they are conceding the fact that they won't be landing Hiter.

The Ohio State football team seems to have the upper hand for five-star running back Savion Hiter over Michigan

TTUN sent out a scholarship offer to another running back in the last couple of days. That shows that they don't feel confident about their standing with Hiter at the moment. In fact, it could show the fact that they are conceding that the Ohio State Buckeyes have a better chance of landing him.

Ohio State feels confident about what Carlos Locklyn brings to the recruiting trail. His first recruiting cycle last year was pretty solid with the guys that he was able to bring in. Hiter would be the first five-star back that the Buckeyes have landed since Henderson back in 2021.

I don't think they really had a real great chance at him anyways, They were probably 4th and best in the pecking order.

That Florida team looked like they were playing a completely different sport than us. That game changed things. You could feel it. The spread was no longer a gimmick offense smaller programs used to close the gap. It was the future.

it wasn't their offense. it was the fact that their D-line completely dominated the game.

Cleveland Guardians (2025 Season Thread)

National handwringing over Guards dumping Naylor for Santana not appearing to age well. Similar to last year in Cleveland, Knucklehead got off to a hot start in Arizona but has quickly fallen off. Santana currently sporting a 0.8 WAR vs 0.4 for Naylor. I understood the Gimenez trade but hated it just for the fact that I enjoyed watching him play baseball. Naylor on the other hand was one I was happy to see go, the baserunning blunders, defensive gaffes and offensive inconsistency along with some of his antics were maddening.

Hmmmmm, would that mean that playoff games played in 2024 would count?
Are you talking about the playoff games in 2024 that were right after the end of the 2023 season?
If so, then no. When I said "2021 to 2023" I was referring to the entire seasons - not the calendar years.
They really should end the calendar the day after the Super Bowl. It would make these conversations a lot more clear.

Olympics: Flag Football

NFL approves players in '28 Games, but hurdles remain

...
"It's a perfect opportunity to get everybody playing one sport, representing America as a whole, and hopefully get a gold medal," New England Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs told ESPN.

How embarrassing would it be if Team USA didn't win a gold medal?
It'd be like going to a party and bringing a game that is totally skill-based, and teaching it to everybody, and then NOT winning it. Except probably way worse.
I don't know what kind of "market share" the NFL has outside of the US. Is "Market Share" the correct term? Regardless, I think this is an opportunity to expand on it. I mean, I didn't know what Curling was until that one Olympics in Canada, and now it's on TV all the time (on some obscure channel at the bar).

I've never heard of "no contest" in this sense.
I agree with your hierarchy, but they won't be forfeits. I don't have any insider information, but I feel very confident in my statement that they won't be forfeits.
I also feel confident that a ruling of "no contest" will not be made for any game.
All of the cheaters' wins from 2021 to 2023 will be vacated, only.
Hmmmmm, would that mean that playoff games played in 2024 would count?

I haven’t really been part of this discussion, but it seems to me that it’s been a disagreement between people unhappy with the number of noon kickoffs and people who are unbothered by it. From my perspective, calling them Fox lackeys is intellectually dishonest at best
It has been quite a bit more than that, but it's not a big deal. Nobody here is a victim

2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

If I can figure this out, the playoffs would have looked like this:

1. Oregon
2. Georgia
3. Texas
4. Penn State
5. Notre Dame
6. Ohio State
7. Tennessee
8. Indiana
9. Boise State
10. SMU
12. Arizona State
16. Clemson

Notre Dame would have hosted Clemson
Ohio State would have hosted Arizona State
Tennessee would have hosted SMU
Indiana would have hosted Boise State

I would guess that the home teams would win all four of those games.

Second Round:
Rose Bowl: Oregon vs. Indiana
Sugar Bowl: Georgia vs. Tennessee
Another Bowl: Texas vs. Ohio State
Another Bowl: Penn State vs. Notre Dame

I'll guess that Oregon and Georgia would win.
We already know who won the other two games: Ohio State and Notre Dame.
So now we have Georgia vs. Ohio State and Oregon vs. Notre Dame.
Assuming Ohio State beats Georgia, it's irrelevant for who wins the other game, since Ohio State beat both of those teams.

Is that a better playoff? I like the idea that champions get byes, but I do think it's a bit silly that the #5 team would probably have the easiest trip to the Final Four and will get to the Final Four about 80% of the time.

If the game does get moved, the FOX lackey's in here are gonna be in shambles :slappy:

2026 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Four-star QB could emerge as Ohio State's 2026 quarterback recruit

The Ohio State football team still doesn't have a quarterback for the 2026 class. This four-star QB could emerge as that QB.

One of the things that Ryan Day likes to do is take a quarterback in every single recruiting class. Since he's been with the Ohio State football program, he has tried to bring in a QB every year. That's something that he feels strongly about, even when he has five-star recruits in the room.

Right now, Day has two five-star quarterbacks on the roster. Both Julian Sayin and Tavien St. Clair are former five-star guys. Even though St. Clair just came in this year, Day still wants to have a quarterback for the 2026 class. He just hasn't had one commit yet.

It looks like one specific QB could be the favorite to emerge for the Buckeyes. Luke Fahey, a four-star quarterback from California, could be the guy who slides in and emerges as the quarterback that the Ohio State Buckeyes take in this 2026 recruiting class.

Luke Fahey is emerging as the quarterback the Ohio State football team might take in the 2026 recruiting class

Fahey stands at just 6 feet and 185 pounds, so he's not the biggest quarterback in the world. He doesn't have a lot of the big boys after him at the moment, as Indiana, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma State are the other programs who are trying to land him.

Day deserves grace when it comes to his ability to evaluate quarterbacks. Other than the Kyle McCord season, Ohio State has had elite quarterback play every year he's been with the program. McCord was also a five-star recruit, so everyone would have taken him out of college.

If Fahey is the guy the Buckeyes decided to bring in, that would be good for both Sayin and St. Clair. They don't necessarily need to look over their shoulder at someone else when they will already be battling each other for the next couple of seasons.
