Ohio State is surging a bit here. Last time I talked with him a few weeks ago, the schools he said would get his first official trips were Texas, Georgia and Michigan. Now Ohio State is set and he'll take an unofficial there in March as well.
The offer from the Buckeyes resonated with the Rivals300 defender, who is eyeing a visit to Columbus this spring ahead of his official visit in May.
“The offer from Ohio State blew my mind because, of course, I went from zero offers to having one of the most prestigious programs in college football in two weeks,” Nelson said.
“I plan to grow my relationship with Coach (James) Laurinaitis. We have been on the phone and I can’t wait to get down there and check out the city, the facilities and spend time with the staff. Ohio State is a prestigious program — a top-15 academic program in the country. At Ohio State, you have the ability to go and compete for a national championship year after year. This offer showed me where I could go with football.”
