Game Thread tOSU at Indiana, Saturday Oct. 17, Noon ET, FOX

If the Buckeyes get any first downs between the 12 and the 7 yard lines, I really want to see a couple of fades called. It’s tough to run it in from there, and they can stop slants with LBs and safeties. But if the ball is thrown right they can’t stop a fade. And we have a guy who is rather skilled at catching passes up in the air. And a young pup who also has a nice size advantage for that particular pattern.

I don’t care if they know it‘s likely to be called. We have tried very few of those, are we saving fade patterns for games like these?

It’s football weather here in Indy. Crisp morning but should be sunny and cool today.

Taking off in a couple hours to head down. I’ve been watching Ohio State kick Indiana’s ass down there since Ted Ginn in 2005. I have my reservations about a tough matchup but I’ll be yelling my ass off for another beatdown no matter what.

Grew up in the era where those Ohio kids not recruited by tOSU seemed to end up at Indiana. We waxed them pretty much every year. Anyway, am glad to see them become relevant again, and even more pleased that they've replaced Xichigan as an opponent. Much like in mens basketball. Know it's sacrilegious, but hey! only my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I still dislike Xichigan with a passion, and always will. But now there's two circles on the calendar. Go Bucks!

This is game is going to come down to can we run the football. Not exactly the most brilliant analysis there by me, but I think we will win the game if we can consistently get first downs running the ball.

No huge pregame analysis for me, just some brief thoughts. We HAVE to stop the run. They'll hit a big play or two with their WRs in all likelihood, Becker and Marsh are a really good tandem. But consistently stop the run and get some pressure with the occasional blitz from somewhere they aren't expecting it. On offense, with J Jackson out we're going to need more from the passing game today. Smith needs another career game, seems obvious but we're really going to need him today.
