Game Thread tOSU at Indiana, Saturday Oct. 17, Noon ET, FOX

I've found that replaying or re-attempting something that didn't go my way in a previous attempt usually means I don't move forward.

All this worrying about last year is kinda dumb. Yeah look at what they did, but these teams are basically ENTIRELY different in so many areas, that trying to take anything other than Ohio State lost the game up front from last year's game is meaningless in my IMO.

Also, worrying too much about what you THINK the other guy is going to do to you, rather than working on and concentrating on what you want to do yourself is also a surefire way to not get what you want to do done.

Catching up on things but pretty much agree with what I’ve seen - this is Arthur Smith’s biggest test.

Texas has a great D because they got the dudes. But Haines is probably the best DC in the game. He puts his players in the right position at all levels. And he’ll know exactly what he wants to do going into this matchup.

I mean, last year’s game is out there. We all know what is coming - disruption up front and pressure on Sayin. We’re down our most reliable RB and a starting OL.

So what does Smith have to counter it? What does he do to keep Sayin comfortable? Is it extra chip blocking or is it quick flare passes to the RBs/TEs or is it screens or…etc etc.

I hope anything is better than what Hartline/Day came up with at the end of last season.
I love Hart but he was a major distraction during that time. This game we will be intensely focused and highly motivated.

Art’s gonna have to call a masterpiece with that availability report. If he does — and I damn well hope he does — his critics will have to reconsider their positions. Not one who follows the NFL at all, the only thing I know of him is what I’ve read here… so I take him with a bit of a grain of salt. But candidly, he’s better than our last OC. I hope this game puts him in a discussion with Chip as the comparison.
Out of that group, Siereveld is the true loss, but Daniels has shown against Texas that he can hold his own. Also, Texas's defense is better than Indiana's.

Art just needs to continue to call the game he has all season. I don't think he needs to do anything crazy. Opening it up more would be great. But OSU is handling business.

Even with the loss against Texas, it wasn't Art who cost the game, but Sayin's lack of execution.

Apart from Maryland, I think Sayin has handled business, and even then OSU still killed Maryland. Also, I think Maryland has more talent on the D line than Indiana.
