Former Ohio State Kicker Jayden Fielding Filing Lawsuit Against NCAA to Enter Transfer Portal for Fifth Year of Eligibility​

Jayden Fielding is suing the NCAA for the opportunity to play a fifth year of college football somewhere other than Ohio State.

Fielding’s attorney, Darren Heitner, told CBS Sports on Thursday that Fielding is filing a lawsuit against the NCAA, seeking the ability to enter the transfer portal and play a fifth season of college football.

Heitner, an attorney who specializes in representing college athletes, has represented a multitude of athletes from the 2022 recruiting class seeking the opportunity to use their fifth year of eligibility after the NCAA changed its eligibility model to give all current and future athletes five years of eligibility.

The news of Fielding’s lawsuit comes one day after a group of 16 former college football players – including multiple players who signed NFL contracts this offseason – received a temporary restraining order against the NCAA in Louisiana allowing them to enter the transfer portal and play a fifth year of college football.

Not a good look from a team that wanted to toss aside their old coach and apparently assumed he would not coach elsewhere, and is now upset that he did—and took a bunch of players, just like Cignetti did and Franklin did and the new guy at PSU did etc.
