J.J. McCarthy (once a tCun, always a tCun; Nine on the Pine)

I just don't think McCord was that good. I think McCarthy would have been at least as good if not better with the talent and coaching he would have gotten at OSU. His mobility would have made the difference.
Yeah but every practice would've started out with everyone punching him right in the face for being a douchebag.

yeah....the only Buckeye close to Ginn level of speed after 20 yards was Parris Campbell...Joey Galloway as well. Come to think of, I can't think of many NFL players who were faster than Ginn....if any. Darrell Green ? Willie Gault? Jamaal Charles? I'm sure there are more but none showed it consistently in straight line like Ginn did. Elusiveness buys some speedsters space to run....Ginn was never elusive per se but just ran away from people. I wish I'd seen Bob Hayes and Paul Warfield in person to judge them more
I think Ginn may have been the fastest Buckeye ever. But Campbell and Galloway will give him a run for his money. But overall, I’d say Chris Johnson and Marquise Goodwin are 2 of the fastest straight line guys I’ve seen. And also throw in Trindon Holliday who gets forgotten. He competed in the olympic trials.

Yep, just look at how, once they had to stop cheating, JJ Leaf went from Heisman favorite to a barely capable game manager. Vikings front office should all be thrown out of a helicopter after taking this fool's gold with the 11th pick.

Nah - he wasn't better than McCord. He wasn't even allowed to play Quarterback even in a system that was blatantly cheating.

He was probably better than McCord but would have been a step down from Stroud.....big step down.

One of the few things I do know is - I've never seen a player close to Ginn when it comes to straight line speed. He somehow even made it look slow because of his long smooth strides, but then the gap behind him would grow and grow. I think maybe the closest straight line speed guy next up would be Parris Campbell? I know Ballard allegedly had elite speed but I'm also not sure we ever saw that in a game.
