2015 was the worst of those teams, but should have been the best.

Intentionally loading the bases with 2 outs is kinda stupid.

I think as we move further away from 1998, they are becoming a bit underrated given the talent on that team. They'd be a CFP contender right now, nearly 30 years later.

How much do you punish a clearly superior team talent-wise compared to its era and contemporaries? 1969 shouldn't have been challenged, but wilted against TCUN. Same in some ways with 1996....probably the 2nd most talented team since 1969 (not including 1998 since it hadn't happened yet), but again, they wilted against TCUN. Both 1996 and 1969 share similarities in their loss to TCUN as well - all of the scoring was in the 1st half, and being shut out complete in the 2nd half.

I do like the make-up of this team more than others in the Diebler era.
My critique of previous Diebler teams is that he valued shooting/scoring more than defense/rebounding/athleticism.
This squad seems more balanced.

If Thompson plays like a one-and-done lottery pick, this will be a fun team to watch.
