Hey, like his corporate suit. Has got more than the 1/4" of sleeve showing, however. Very corporate. Thing that is/was overlooked was that teams threw away from Downs, and Jaylen stood up admirably to the increased pressure. Now he's got the big stage, and no, he's not going to be all over the field like Downs was last year. Believe he'll hold down his position well, and maybe he'll do some blitzing like Caleb did. Or cream the RB turning the corner. Will be his money season, and hoping he'll respond well. Go Bucks

These early games will hopefully let the cream rise to the top. See plenty of potential, so let he who makes the plays get the minutes. But being true to being Negative Nelly, hope there are enough snaps to go around. LJSr has alot of weapons, now just gotta find the right combination. Maybe see a 'line-out' thing like hockey? Could be a nightmare for B10 opponents. Here's hoping for a better post-season than last year.

What I saw at B10 meeting from Sayin was positive. He handled everything (my limited sample) pretty well. Granted, many of the questions were softballs, but his demeanor was calm, seemed reasoned, and confident. Sometimes think he gets downplayed because he looks 14, so if he grew out his facial hair, he'd be more highly ranked. Dunno. He played well last year, and his physique has gotten noticeably better. Also believe (hope?) that he's going to be given a greener light to use his feet more, as TSC appears to be getting better, ergo a more reliable substitute if Saying gets his bells rung on a run or two. Last year, TSC wasn't as able, so Day put clamps on, w/o a back-up. Plus, you cannot discount his increased experience, and one learns more from losses than wins. Go Bucks!

Mauricio Pochettino signs new deal to remain as USMNT manager​

Mauricio Pochettino has signed a new contract to continue as manager of the U.S. men's national team, U.S. Soccer announced Monday morning.

Pochettino's new deal runs through the 2030 World Cup. Longtime assistants Jesus Perez, Miguel D'Agostino and Toni Jiménez, as well as more recent additions Sebastian Pochettino and Silvia Tuyà, will remain on Pochettino's staff.

"Mauricio and his staff believe in the future of soccer in the United States and our new project allows us to build on progress of the USMNT and the momentum of U.S. Soccer," said U.S. Soccer CEO and Secretary General JT Batson. "We know we have a lot of work to do to achieve our clear ambitions, including competing to win Men's World Cups and having soccer become the most played sport in every community. I couldn't be more excited that Mauricio and team are committed to partnering with all of us to do the hard work to bring those ambitions to life."

According to U.S. Soccer, Pochettino's reappointment, along with a broader investment in the USMNT, is being supported by a philanthropic leadership gift from Kenneth C. Griffin, the founder and CEO of Citadel and founder of Griffin Catalyst. Additional support has been provided by Scott Goodwin, Adam Freede and several commercial partners.

2026 tOSU Offense Discussion

Against Texas, am betting that tOSU will play 2-3 TEs on the line. Don't know why, tOSU stayed pat on the OL during portal season, but the faith in the 2026 OL is high. As someone noted that Texas will be throwing everything but the camp stool at the Buckeyes. Probably because the game last year sent them into a tailspin after the game 1 loss. (Plus you cannot serve alcohol in the stadium if you lose the opener). With a rejiggered OL, one new starter (?), but at LT, and an experienced DL from Texas, I expect to see no less than six OL, one QB, one RB, and 3 WRs on the field. Short yardage, 7 OL, 2 WRs. If our OL holds up, maybe substitute a TE delay off the line, but all this depends on early success of OL. And let Jeremiah and Inniss or (?) go up against seasoned Texas DBs.

Judge says injunction doesn't cover football players who signed pro deals​

The judge who granted the right to play another year of college sports to some athletes whose eligibility ran out last school year issued a new order Sunday that makes clear that the ruling does not include football players who signed pro contracts this summer, then had a change of heart.

U.S. District Judge Charlotte Sweeney responded to an NCAA request for clarity about her Friday ruling that granted a fifth year to athletes who graduated high school in 2022 and were not included in the new NCAA rule that allows five seasons of eligibility for Division I players.

That decision, she said, still stands, but has no impact on other NCAA rules, including its prohibition on players signing pro contracts, then coming back to college.

He's been playing great. Even his at-bats that haven't ended up as hits have been really hard hit balls (like the one that was scalded back to the pitcher today). He has been throwing runners out, and his ABS challenges on the Umps calls have been at the top of the league. Great dude in the locker room and community as well. The first two games this series, he got hits in each game and walked a total of 5 times. That's a lot of getting on base.

So his first at-bat in a Reds uniform was a home run. And his last at-bat might be a home run as well (it will be if he's traded tonight). That's got to be pretty rare.

Veteran linebacker Arion Carter has been suspended by the NCAA for the first two games of Tennessee's upcoming season, Adam Sparks of the Knoxville News Sentinel reported on Wednesday.

A UT spokesperson confirmed Carter's suspension to GoVols247.

The NCAA elected to suspend Carter because of a $427 flight that was paid for him while he was going through the NFL pre-draft process. Carter was suspended even though he repaid the money according to Sparks' reporting.

Carter will miss Tennessee's season opener against Furman as a result. He'll also miss UT's road trip to Georgia Tech the second week of the season.

Josh Heupel was not happy with the NCAA's decision to suspend one of his leaders.

The linebacker declared for the NFL Draft in mid-December after an All-SEC junior season he achieved despite playing more than two months of the season with double turf toe, an injury severe enough for surgery. It sidelined Carter for the entire pre-draft process. He eventually withdrew from the draft with the intentions of entering the transfer portal before he and Tennessee worked out a return for his senior season.
