Jerry Lucas will be immortalized outside Value City Arena this fall.
According to The Columbus Dispatch’s Adam Jardy, Ohio State will unveil a statue commemorating Lucas at 4 p.m. on Nov. 14. While Lucas’ No. 11 jersey hangs in the Value City Arena rafters along with John Havlicek (No. 5), Evan Turner (No. 21), Jim Jackson (No. 22) and Gary Bradds (No. 35), the Middletown, Ohio, native will be the first Ohio State men’s basketball player to receive a bronze sculpture on campus.
"I am so very, very, humbled and honored for that happening," Lucas told Jardy. "It might be the highlight of my entire career. It's so unique. You look at the history of the university, the history of sports at the university, and the very small number of people who have had that honor, it's incredible.
"When I first heard about it, I was so humbled. Jesse Owens. Woody Hayes. Archie Griffin. There's so few that have had that privilege and that honor. It's very, very touching."
A three-time All-American and two-time national player of the year, Lucas finished his career as Ohio State’s all-time leading scorer with 1,990 points across three seasons (freshmen were prohibited from playing with the varsity team during Lucas’ tenure with the Buckeyes). He’s now tied for third in all-time scoring with William Buford, both of whom trail Dennis Hopson’s 2,096 points and Herb Williams’ 2,011 points.
While Hopson and Williams passed him on the scoring list, no Buckeye has passed — or likely will pass — Lucas as Ohio State’s all-time leading rebounder, as Lucas recorded 1,411 rebounds in his career, an average of 17.2 rebounds per game. Lucas’ 78 double-doubles are also a program record that will likely withstand the test of time, as will his streak of 38 consecutive double-doubles.
Ohio State went 78-6 in Lucas’ three playing seasons, as the Buckeyes won the program’s only national championship in 1960 and finished as the national runner-up in 1961 and 1962.

2025 Polls

I'm calling my money shot right now.

B1G: Ohio State, pedsters and Oregon with The Fighting Berts last in.

SEC: tejas, UGA and LSU in as lock with Florida last in.

ACC: Miami and SMU

B12: Iowa State

G5: UNLV
Hoo boy. Florida’s road to the playoffs just had a bridge wash away. We’ll see if the detour survives the storm.

2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments - NCAA: no wins taken away, no postseason ban

They won't be coming to Columbus until next season.
I want the cheaters to be 1-11 after Ohio State beats them. And the only reason for it being not 0-12 is because they already have a win over some lame-o. But.... and it was mentioned somewhere here before.. I find a lot of humor in thinking about Ohio State beating the cheaters in their house, then beating them again in the first round in Columbus a couple of weeks later.
But I'd rather just beat them and keep them from getting a squiggly number in the "win" column for the season.

Not sure but this dude might be autistic...
I don't get it. I mean, I enjoy watching people get angry about their teams losing, when it isn't my team losing. Normally, they show the game in the corner so we see what they're seeing. Or the reaction is in a window in the corner, with the game on the main window. Also, they're just watching the highlights, normally. So.... these guys are fans of their teams and they wait until the highlights are released on Youtube, or some platform, and they hold off on watching the game live. Then they watch the highlights and react to the highlights.

This guy may be watching it live and only showing clips of his reaction.

Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Why are they ranked #2 In the AP? They lost to tOSU, Oregon, and ND; and instead of returning their best player on both offense and defense like the Buckeyes, they lost Abdul Carter and Tyler Warren, who were their difference makers on both sides.

Allar couldn’t consistently hit his WRs when Warren was there, how will that improve? They do have a good pair of RB, but that will only get them so far.

Especially when the head coach decides that instead of using these stud RBs, let's see what happens when we bring in the second string QB and have him line up at WR then throw a backwards pass to him so he can throw to the TE.

Oh......we're out of FG range now. Punt.

They are juggernauts. They should come into Ohio Stadium at least 10 point favorites. Yep, B1G Ten, #1 vs #2 week after week.

I'm in my second session of the Berlitz Learn to Speak SEC. How am I doing?
