2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

They don't even need to be a true run threat. Just have escaability and take yards when given. Basically Krenzel level legs.

For all the handwringing about mobile QBs, I agree and think Sayin can fill that role just fine. Looked like he tweaked his ankle against UCLA and lost some mobility and the great pocket presence he had against PSU when they were also getting a lot of pressure.

Howard’s success was more about experience and stepping up in the playoffs. I can remember more times that he slipped on the turf than had some game changing run.

Sayin running the ball wasn’t the issue against IU and Miami. He wasn’t ready for the constant pressure mixed with high level game plans. It happens and he’ll get better.

Yes….but they need to be a legitimate run threat. They don’t have to be Braxton Miller but Howard, Mendoza, Beck…..all are dangerous enough with their legs to keep drives alive

Going forward I’m hoping for OSU to reinstate the Vic Janowicz template for future QBs. With this model, one player can run, catch, pass, kick, and punt.

With the ability to catch their own pass or scramble for an explosive play, kick a 60 yard FG, and punt on 1st down, you’re looking at the new age of total football.

Veteran quarterbacks are the future. Our 5th year QB last season was the difference. Sayin gonna be a great one, but if he would’ve been a seasoned veteran, we’d still be playing again this year. Mendoza is seasoned also.

Looks like the SEC isn’t all that dominant without Saban to save them. Take away Bama the last 20 years, and the SEC isn’t any more dominant than any other conference. And I got news for everyone….Indiana isn’t going anywhere, Oregon isn’t going anywhere, we aren’t going anywhere, and teams like USC and Miami are coming back around. I tell my sons that football runs in cycles. The one constant has been Ohio State. That’s why everyone hates us.
