ALPHA DOG: QB LUKE FAHEY
It's always kind of cliche to give the Alpha Dog (top performer) following a 7v7 tournament to the winning team's quarterback but in this case, Fahey was more than deserving. When you're standing behind him in the pocket and can see how quickly he's processing what he's seeing, how quickly he gets through progressions and how early and on time he throws, it's next level.
The
Ohio State commit rarely misses and has an advanced feel for how to play the position. He never looks nervous or flustered and orchestrated a text book 2-minute drill in the Diablos exciting semi-final win over a talented Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral team, throwing the game winning touchdown on the final play of the game.
A word we use a lot with Fahey is, 'surgical,' and we'll keep coming back to it because that's exactly what he looks like as a quarterback. He's able to carve up any defense with his precision passes, can make every throw on the field and he has really stepped up as a leader this off-season as well.
