But hey! We can't use the SEC Bowl Game monkey taunt anymore, so it's a wash.

matcar;1931733; said:Why does anybody bring the SEC into the discussion? It isn't relevant. People have been pointing the finger at the SEC saying "Cheaters! Cheaters!" for a long time. Now it's come to light that our program is doing the very thing we've accused others of. Seems like the last thing one would do is continue that tired shout considering our program has been shown to display those characteristics. Seems like now would be a good time to shut down that talk permanently.

It won't be vacated because the ncaa declared the players eligible.SaturdayROX;1931735; said:...and you honestly dont think that victory will be either vacated or forfeited? think about it.
BB73;1931738; said:I don't accept that statement. Many suspect that some programs in the SEC are paying players through methods approved by the athletic department, and I don't think that tOSU's issues run that deep.
No, I don't have my head in the sand, and I'm not saying that tOSU doesn't deserve NCAA sanctions because of the problems that have been uncovered, but I'm saying that there's a huge difference in my mind between a program that isn't aware of a few players each year who are receiving improper benefits and programs that are orchestrating improper benefits.

SaturdayROX;1931742; said:No.... they delayed punishment until the next year.
...and that was before the rest of this $#!t came out. At this point, the entire 2010 season is fair game. (See USCw and BAMA penalties of the past 10 years)
matcar;1931740; said:We differ then. Turning a blind eye to it seems just as bad to me. I stand by my point that the whole SEC=Cheaters tag should cease for Buckeye fans...we don't have a leg to stand on.
bull shit we don't. you don't see a difference between a school paying 180k for a player vs a player going out and finding the scumbags who will slip you cash whenever you want it?We differ then. Turning a blind eye to it seems just as bad to me. I stand by my point that the whole SEC=Cheaters tag should cease for Buckeye fans...we don't have a leg to stand on.
