XBox 360, PS3 or Wii? ( ESPN on 360 for TWC)

This Kotaku article puts the target date for the next-gen Xbox & PlayStation around 2014:

http://kotaku.com/#!5794000/microsoft-and-sony-targeting-2014-for-new-consoles-leaving-nintendo-in-the-clear

Is there really a need for next-gen hardware right now? From what I've seen and heard, neither system is being maxed out by its software yet.

Exactly, it seems they set a rather high ceiling (rightfully so) for these consoles when it came to competing back in 2005(?).

I hope they don't release new systems, they invested SO much more into these consoles than they EVER have. They've released 3 different types of Xbox 360's (the original white, the original 120GB black Elite, and the slim consoles). The 120GB was by far my favorite, but had to upgrade because I want to eventually get a Kinect.

Watch them develop a new console, and bring the old Kinect with it... Seems like a dickhead move Bill Gates is 100% capable of. Gotta be careful when I say that, I'm on a PC, they're tracking me! :paranoid:

Aight....I'm thinking of going back to 360 if it's going to be a while before the next system is released. All my friends keep bitching at me bc I can't play online with them anymore (and I miss it)

 snip snap snip snap.

Its true Xbox > Playstation

welcome back..if you do

Supposidely the new Elder Scrolls 5 game is going to push the X-Box 360's capabilities and do a number on the PS3 as well.

Speaking of PS3, I've had one since the first generation (Ebay'd it the week it was released since I couldn't find one in stores). Never had a problem with it...until I upgraded to a 500Gb hard drive. The thing ran great for 3-4 months, then I started seeing problems where hard drive related activities would take long periods of time. Sometimes when loading up the PS3 it would take several minutes for any information to load up other than the tools/selections in the system tools tab. I decided to do a full format today after backing up just game save data...apparently full formats on PS3 hard drives are notorious for taking long periods of time depending on how large your drive is:

This link title makes me think of two things:

1. Not sure anybody that has ever bought Nintendo has cared how powerful the system is relative to its competitors. People buy Nintendo for Nintendo IP.

2. The 360 is seven years old. It's 500Mhz Xenos GPU packed 232 million transistors and is very similar to an R520 (X1950) but with unified shaders. For comparison, graphics cards on the market from ATI today pack over 2.6 billion transistors. Even accounting for Nintendo's design strategy of building something cool, quiet, 'green' with little power consumption, and very cheap, to make a console less powerful than the 360 would be really, really hard to do.

Hmm X-Box or Wii or PS3.

What about outside, sunny, baseball glove and ball, tossing the ball around, high thrown pop flies, it's back, back, way back and Mays makes the catch?

Ok my older generation caught me by surprise. I am the furthest thing from a gamer but I do like the wii for bowling, golf, boxing, Wii fitness in the winter. Also games like monopoly and such are great in the winter.

Also I rule in "Deal or No Deal", on the Wii.

All the girls on there love me too.

I'm 'only' 36 and I'm leaning towards Apache. I'm at the point where I'd rather play Wii Bowling than get clowned by ten year olds on Black Ops.

I know, because my ten year old has been clowning college kids on the CoD franchise for two years now. I raised him well ... all those hours of Unreal Tournament 2003 on our PC LAN from the day he turned four.

 I meant to single out the "outside on a sunny day" part.

I don't really play online yet.

Playing online when everyone else has had the game a year before you got it is ridiculous. It's not fair. It's like southern baseball. Well no shit you're better, you've logged sixteen more months of practice.

Question for ps3 users, do you guys buy store points to download music, movies, content?

I noticed on the BP referrals page that we make a whopping 10% commission for all ps3 card purchases, just like mp3 and kindle purchases. Usually we make 4-6% on the rest.

I didn't know how much downloading happens on the ps store since your online footprint is a little different.

Anyway, that is something to keep in mind the next time you need to reload your card.
