XBox 360, PS3 or Wii? ( ESPN on 360 for TWC)

This is why I go through the hassel of buying points cards for stuff when applicable. PS3, Wii, 360, WoW, etc ... Never entered a CC number in any of them, and I don't plan on ever starting.

More and more, I'm using my CC to withdraw cash from ATMs, then going to local brick & mortars and paying cash for everything I buy. Between the government, the terrorists, the cyber criminals, the spammers and the telemarketers ... fuck 'em all.

Of course, the result of this is now I get more junk mail and spam from my own fucking bank than anybody else. :smash:

You can add itunes to that list.

Keep in mind though, credit cards generally generally offer robust protection against fraudulent charges. Debit cards, not so much.

Obviously, if I have something on a service like this that has been compromised, I'm going to make a change to my account. However, I don't really have a problem with having a credit card on file with a service like iTunes. Since I'm only liable for the first $50 of fraudulent charges, it's relatively low-risk and the benefits of being able to make purchases on the fly without having to hassle with prepaid cards outweigh those risks for me.

Besides, ATMs these days carry their own risks. Hell, my wife went to a drive-thru ATM a few weeks ago and the damn thing rebooted the instant she put her card in. It didn't spit her card back out, but we had to sit there and spy on the other people who came thru the line to make sure it didn't end up giving her card to some stranger while she was on the line with the bank to cancel it.

But if you buy the iTunes gift cards, you also save money at the pump if you're smart and go to the right stores

Sony: PlayStation Network Will Return This Week

Owen Good ? PlayStation Network, down since April 20, will return this week, said Kazuo Hirai, the second-in-command for Sony Corp., at a news conference today in Tokyo.
When PSN comes online, PS3 users will face a mandatory system software update that also requires them to change their account passwords before they can sign into the service. That password can be changed only on the same PS3 that activated the account, or through a validated email confirmation, Sony said.
The restoration of PSN will come in a regional phased rollout. A press statement from Sony said PSN's initial restoration will include online multiplayer for PS3 and PSP; access to account management and password reset; access to one's friends list, with chat functionality; access to PlayStation Home, and to the download of unexpired movie rentals and to Qriocity's Music Unlimited service.
Sony's statement implied that its PlayStation Store "and other Qriocity operations" would be slower to come back online than PSN, returning later in May, as the company continues "to reinforce and verify security" for both services.
Sony has also created a new chief information officer position to oversee security in the wake of the massive data breach that exposed 77 million account holders' personal information. A "Welcome Back" program offering free content to all subscribers, and a free 30-day subscription to PlayStation Plus members, will also be implemented.
Hirai outlined details of Sony's recovery plan today at a news conference in Japan. Regarding the "Welcome Back" program, alluded to in "make-good" promises extended by Sony Computer Entertainment earlier this week, all PlayStation Network subscribers will get a month of PlayStation Plus premium service free; existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will get their terms extended a month, free. "Selected PlayStation entertainment content" will also be offered for free, on a region-by-region basis, as a welcome-back inducement. The content type was not specified, only that "it will be announced in each region soon."

Very bad news if you have a PS3. Their network was hacked (thus the reason it's been down for about a week) and people's names, addresses, emails, possibly credit cards have been stolen. If you do have a credit card on file, monitor it very closely.

Playstion/Sony has released this info (I just don't have a link)

I actually received an email about this, since I used to have a PS3. Interesting.

That's good news about PSN.

Anyone hear any info about the next Playstation/Xbox/Wii. I believe they are due to be coming out within the next year (if looking at the cycle of systems)

The next wii is coming out. Both Sony & MS have been pretty consistent that they aren't close to releasing a new generation.

ha, sorry to hear that, but

just another reason why 360 > ps3

Shit the Xbox is easier to hack than the PS3. I had my account hacked two or three years ago, some british kid apparently HATED me team killing him in Saints Row. The no laughing matter of the situation is, I had a credit card stolen off of there, and a $3,000 bill run up in the UK. Luckily, it alarmed the credit card company, and they called asking if we had taken a vacation.:lol:

I heard they were just going to keep building off of the current systems, and just continue to evolve them. My guesses for the next big release. For Xbox, Blu Ray, obviously.

Aight....I'm thinking of going back to 360 if it's going to be a while before the next system is released. All my friends keep bitching at me bc I can't play online with them anymore (and I miss it)

 snip snap snip snap.

Its true Xbox > Playstation

Fresh Details About Wii 2's Unusual Controller (And Why It Won't Kill The Wii Remote)

New Nintendo Console Debuting At E3 This June, Launching In 2012, More Powerful Than Xbox 360 and PS3
comments said:
Due? MS said last year that the launch of the Kinect marks the half-point in the 360's life cycle. Sony said something similar about Move. Considering the 360 was launched in 2005, it'll be 2015 before we see the next Xbox.

This is assuming MS sticks to their guns on what they said.

Main reason why I didn't keep my PS3, I miss the blu ray player, but I didn't need a 250 GB PS3 AND a 250 GB Xbox 360.

As other people said though, GO PREPAID CARDS! Don't be a fool and put your credit cards on there. Unless you have one close to expiration, to fuck with the hackers. It's what I did. I have 3 expired cards on there for them to have a field day with.

This Kotaku article puts the target date for the next-gen Xbox & PlayStation around 2014:

Is there really a need for next-gen hardware right now? From what I've seen and heard, neither system is being maxed out by its software yet.
