XBox 360, PS3 or Wii? ( ESPN on 360 for TWC)

and as that thread indicated, unless you're desperate, this isn't a very good deal.

35-40 / yr deals are pretty common, and this puts you on auto renew, which can sometimes be a hassle to remove.

I've been waiting around for one of these deals for quite a while. I was going to purchase a 12 month subscription through Amazon, but this deal was better per month. I wanted XBL by this thursday as well so that I could play the beta for BF3.

How does one go about acquiring a beta code?

Shop Amazon.com

Amazon has Xbox 360 4GB Console w/ Kinect + $100 Amazon Credit for $299.99.

Amazon also has Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Kinect Bundle + $100 Amazon Credit for $399.

The credit is placed in your account and applied to any future purchase (after it ships).

I'm not so sure I'm a big fan of the update or not. However, it does allow me to play games that have multiple updates a month without having to download an update every time I switch from FIFA to CoD (for example)

I bought a 360 for the family for Christmas. What the hell are dashboard ads?

The Dashboard is the "desktop" of the 360. When you turn it on it defaults to here, and you can log in to XBL, netflix, play your game, etc. The ads are apparently video ads, which makes perfect sense since they already charge users for access to XBL.

Are they hover over ads? Because I haven't experienced said ads yet. Then again, I haven't REALLY looked either.

I haven't updated mine yet either, but from reading an article it sounds like it is a hover over.

They're also supposed to be interactive ads, whatever the [censored] that means. Microsoft can suck it.

Agreed. It's kind of strange that the PS3 hasn't completely blown Xbox out of the water the last few years, given the fact that it's free to play on their "Live" service. Then again, it's more limited in communication based games since the only mic you can use is either the Turtle Beach type headsets or a Bluetooth headset.

I remember when I had my PS3, the mic was SO damn sensitive. I would cough, even quietly, and it would be louder than [Mark May] through the mic.

So because UVerse has been a POS for us since we moved into our house, we're looking at other options. And the other options are a dish or Insight. Insight is a lot cheaper, so we're going to try that and hope that WOW gets out to our neighborhood ASAP.

Anyone know if ESPN and the extra features on the 360 will work with Insight provider?
