12-2.

I think at some point/points this season the youth on defense is going to catch up, and every team has a brainfart or two on offense. After a 12-0 honeymoon, I just feel a letdown or two is due somewhere. I still think we win the B1G and go BCS Bowling. 2014 is where the big things happen.

I worry about the same things--it's hard enough to go undefeated, let alone twice in a row.

That said, looking at the schedule, I just can't bring myself to pick against them anywhere.

Also, as for next year, I think losing 4 starting offensive lineman, albeit with talented, but unproven guys, will be really difficult. Talented skill guys or not, the O-Line makes the offense go. We'll lose quite a bit on D as well. 3/4ths of the secondary and Shazier will be tough to replace.

I get that recruiting has been fantastic, but it remains to be seen whether or not all the pieces are there to make another run. I think this year is a much better opportunity.

Yeah, I don't see 2014 as the year. Oline issues scare me. 2013 is probably the better shot although 2 straight undefeated years would seem highly unlikely.

14-0

Yes, I drink the Koolaide. Heck, I am the guy making it.

I just don't see a loss through the regular season and B1G championship which puts us in the NC game. By season's end I think we have the most potent offense in football. Maybe not the highest scoring but the most balanced and hardest to defend. Also, by season's end I see the defense coming together enough to give us a shot at the title. We were not a dominant team in every phase in 2012 and we won. I see more potential this year. No team is perfect in every phase. We may very well lose in the NC game but I just don't see how we don't make it there and if we do we have as good of a shot as anyone.

Here's how I see it...

A loss anywhere along the way will keep them out of the title game, so that eliminates the "13-1 w/ a National Championship" option for me.

Starting the season ranked as highly as they are will make virtually impossible to drop out of the N.C. picture if they go 13-0, so that eliminates the "14-0 w/ no N.C."

With their schedule, I cannot see them losing more than 1 game before bowl season, which eliminates the "11-2" and "11-3 or worse" options.

The "12-1" option suggests that they lose 1 game an do not make it to the B1G champ game. I don't see that as likely, or even remotely realistic......

So, that leaves me with 14-0 w/ a N.C.; 13-1 w/no N.C.; 12-2, and "I don't care, as long as they beat scUM". Of those 4, I'm thinking that 13-1 with no N.C. is the most likely.

13-1 with a loss in the bowl game. Not sure if I think it's the NCG or a different BCS game at this point. I do think we're at a disadvantage if a team like Stanford or Oregon go undefeated along with an SEC team.

I voted 14-0 with us going to the NCG and winning it all. I just do not see anyone on our schedule that can hold this offense down. Our defense might give up some points during the regular season but I think our offense will outscore any opponent we face until the NCG and I think by that time our front seven will have made tremendous strides and we will be able to hold their own defensively and I do not think that even a SEC SEC defense can stop this offense after an entire season.

I'm just not really sure how consistent the offense will be. Everything points up...but there were a lot consistency issues that weren't solved last year. I feel like the offense is getting a bit too much credit for last years 12-0 while people tend to neglect the fact that the defense bailed out the offense in a few games in the second half of the season last year. The defense was piss poor early last year, but grew up fast and won us some games.

We have the coach for success, and we all love the players we have at each offensive position. But I'm just cautious of assuming that it will all gel together on offense so easily that we can overcome a piss poor defense in the first half of the season again. I think the SDSU, Cal, NW, and Wisky games are gonna be a tougher early stretch than most anticipate.

Defense wins championships. It did in 2002...and for me to pick 14-0 I would just need to be more sold on our defense. So instead I choose the beating Michigan option. If we do that, then no matter what our record I will be happy that things came together in the end. Everything else that may come this year is just icing on the cake for me.

I do agree with a lot of people that aren't able to pinpoint a specific game that looks like a loss. Our weak schedule may be the thing that gets us to 11-0 entering The Game. But on the flip side...it may also leave us untested if the team does end up being extremely good, with then having a game against a team far better than any we've seen in three years in the NCG. Correct me if I'm wrong, but none of these players have ever played a top 5 team, have they?

I voted for 13-1 and I believe we just don't have that kind of luck for two straight years do we? I just have a hunch we'll drop to someone we shouldn't like Purdue, Iowa, or Cal. I think Call has the offensive system to really give us trouble and to score points just as quick as our team so I think that game is going to be the one I think gets us.

As been stated I don't see any team being able to outscore our offense so if we get in a game where the other team can manage a few stops that'll be a dog fight for us.

Our defense is going to be more explosive, fast, and disruptive than last year but early in the year I'll be interested to see how we fair. We have all the tools to be a great defense if we can do 3 things 1) avoid the secondary breakdowns and make teams earn it 2) Leverage and 3) tackle.

We do those and I think we can go 14-0

I'm going 14-0 with a championship.

A cool scenario for me would be tOSU v Stanford for the title. My daughter is a senior at tOSU and not surprisingly lives just a short walk from Ohio Stadium. My son lives even closer to Stanford's stadium although he doesn't/didn't go there, but works in downtown Palo Alto.

EDIT: Oh, and pass the Koolaid
