Even if 'Bama has one loss and is "over-rated" they will still be very solid based on their depth of personnel. They have more quality depth than probably anyone in college football. But, that being said, a lot comes down to motivation. Desire to win. After several BCS championships, do they still have the motivation?
I would like to see that match up of the big ten/sec champs in the national championship.

Ramzy with a pretty good article on enjoying the ride...
What Happens When You Die
Historic winning streaks that span multiple years used to be soured only by the fear of losing.

That inevitability of creeping death - usually via Ann Arbor, a California school on New Year’s Day, or more recently something toxic and alien from West Lafayette - was all that spoiled the enjoyment of lengthy unblemished Saturday sequences.

You kept bracing for the end of it all, and only that worry was capable of diminishing the fun you should have been having.

Those culprits are all still there, but fear isn't wrecking your pride anymore. It's those damn media people with their obvious biases and their unending attack on everything you love.

It’s plastic narrative merchants dedicating their deadlines to making sure everyone understands just how inconsequential Ohio State's 22-game run is. They're overtly and unabashedly biased without any nuance or objectivity, resulting in Buckeye fans dedicating significantly more energy to hating the media than to enjoying this streak.

And you know what? It's exhausting.

Cont'd...
I know we're thirsty for a Crystal football. Desperate for another official recognition that the team we root for, and which consumes our Saturday afternoons (hell, the whole week, really), is the best in the entire land. Sadly the fact is, we cheer for a university and football team that has, what, 3 national championships in last the 45 years? Yet, that fact hasn't shaken any of our fanatical love for The Ohio State University and it damn sure shouldn't now. It's time to step back and enjoy what we have. And if you can't, just think long and hard back to that last Saturday which had the Buckeyes on the other side of the scoreboard from where they've been the last 22 games. Think about a loss. That sick feeling. Probably not your best Saturday. Though slightly ashamed, I'll admit I'm guilty of having Saturdays ruined because of a Buckeye loss. And I've been spared that feeling for 22 straight Buckeye Saturdays. The College football landscape is changing, on the field with the rules, and off the field with media driven agendas fueled by the billions pouring into the sport. And those trends are not going to stall any time soon. Despite the money, the media, the rankings, the conference re-alignments, and the opinions of outsiders, the Buckeyes will still be our team. Forget the rest. It's time to focus on the Buckeyes.

Time and change will surely show...

Was just reading that earlier. Great article by Ramzy, as always

Loved that article by Ramzy. Thing is, I always enjoy the ride. Despite all the external garbage that has plagued us in recent years. Maybe even more so due to that fact. None of them are going to stop us from doing what we do every single Saturday, but they do offer more fuel for the fire. Us against the world. I love it. They can yap all they want, I'm still going to get the same feeling I've had for as long as I can remember when the Buckeyes take the field. From Script to Carmen. Enjoy it? Hell, we live and breathe it. It also just hit me that 'From Script to Carmen' should be some type of film or brand or book... something. Who knows, it's late and I've had a few drinks. GO BUCKS!

It wouldn't be the best case scenario but we'd still have the BiG Championship so no championship isnt entirely correct. Plus a 26 game winning streak after a BCS bowl win going into next season is unbelieveable!

Which would make it even more disappointing. 26-0 and no championship to show for it would suck ass. If we went to the rosebowl and blew the doors off of Oregon again, ho-hum in my opinion. I've seen that before...

I missed the years we went 26-0 and had a blow-out win in a Rosebowl, I remember losses in the Rose Bowl after great years to Stanford, UCLA, and USC twice. I ask you would you rather have one loss and win the BCS Championship or undefeated and win the Rose Bowl. The BCS is fake ...Undefeated is undefeated.

Today I was listening to yesterday's podcast of The Herd. Colin makes a few good points after many OSU callers phoned in, and I am inclined to agree.
1. ACC is about equal to the Big Ten, and if we had beaten Wisconsin by as much as FSU had beaten Clemson then we should get the nod over FSU. The difference is they played a similar schedule and they killed the 1 team they played, an we barely beat the 1 good team we played. Though I contest that Wisky would kill Clemson.
2. Second, our defense is young and is merely OK. FSU has looked better against about the same competition. They have had 4-5 really great recruiting classes and are reaping the rewards. We have had 2.5 really great recruiting classes and still need about 1 more to really be great. Next year is our year, provided we have a quarterback. Our defense will be RIDICULOUS next year.
3. Whether or not we deserve to play in the national title, we need to look good, as a conference. I would rather go crush Oregon in a favorable matchup and have the argument that we deserved a national title than get crushed by Bama in a national title. FSU is going to get killed by Bama. I would rather have us kill Oregon in a Rose Bowl and have Wisky and MSU play SEC teams and have a chance, than have us go to a title game, Wisky go to the Rose Bowl and everyone else essentially have to step up in the bowl games. Big Ten sending 2 teams to the BCS more than everyone else has killed our reputation. I would rather have the big ten win 5-6 bowl games than send 2 teams to the BCS and only win 2 bowls again. So in other words, let Bama kill FSU and then our #1 can beat the PAC12 #1, and our #2, 3, 4 can beat the SEC #3, 4, 5. And our #5 beat can beat someone in the Big 12. We need to earn our respect back. Winning the title game would do that also and I have faith in Urban, but Saban is just as good of a coach given time to prepare. I'm an odds man and I will take the big ten earning back our pride if we don't send 2 teams to the BCS. Sending 2 to the BCS and we may win, but everyone else will likely lose.
