Agree. But once you entered into the realm of domestic abuse, that was inevitable. You think it was blown out of proportion as it was, imagine if Drake came out and said "nothing to see here, Meyer will be at camp practices as scheduled." It was truly a damned if you do/damned if you don't situation for the people who were in that room. I've been unequivocal that I didn't see termination as in any way justified. I just don't know that I saw a clean vindication for Urban as justified--or possible--either.

I completely disagree with this. At the very first whisper of the situation, they could have stated "we're investigating the claims and will handle it internally. When a decision is made, you'll hear about it". Shut. That. Shit. Down. Then, no black eye on OSU on any front cause everyone would forget about it by the end of the news cycle. Drake can keep doing his thing; Urban does his; ZS plays with his dildo pile; we keep crying about a shitty defense; and SCum keeps sucking. Maybe in real life it doesn't play out so simple but at least Drake could make an attempt to support the coach rather than jump in with the pitchfork mob.

Don't crawl up on your high horse too fast. It was as part of a plea bargain on lesser charges, that the more serious charges were dropped. Hardly unexpected for a first time offender when the ex is agreeing to the deal.

That's a far cry from the judge dismissing those charges, which is what you want to imply.

He was never charged with DV. He was charged with criminal trespass, which was reduced to disorderly as part of a normal plea deal.

He also agreed to a 3-year civil protection order.

All in all, it was inconvenient news for anyone who thinks Zach was innocent.

All that and there wasn't a DV charge to begin with. It was a misdemeanor trespassing charge. The result was a protection order that applies to BOTH of them, and ZS pleading to disorderly conduct.

That's part of it. He already has the rep of going when the going gets tough (fairly or unfairly---I'm sure he would tell you unfairly.) If he did it now it would really cement it. I doubt he wants that.

The other question is what would he do if he left. He's not going to sit around the house every day watching tv and playing golf. I don't even know if he could get a job on tv with the stigma he has on him. I really can't see him going to the pros. The only thing I could see possibly see happening is going to USC.

Michael Vick has a TV job. Urban would have an offer the day of.

When he leaves Ohio State, I think he's done coaching, unless he comes out of retirement in 10 years to coach Cincinnati or some shit. There's no chance he takes a job at another pressure cooker like USC.
