tOSU Recruiting Discussion

For those into that kind of thing, Isaiah Prince was crystal balled to OSU by Ryan Bartow just recently. He's a national recruiter for 247 (ie. not an OSU guy). I don't put a lot of stake in CB predictions, but this late in the game after the MD visit by a national recruiter is interesting. Followed up by the owner of the site Shannon Terry who's also a Bama grad or something, but I think he typically just follows people.

Just posted this in Prince's thread. Bartow has been as plugged in on this one as anyone.
Birm, who is very connected everywhere it seems (11W must pay better than pay sites somehow, because he may be the best OSU recruit guy out there behind perhaps Bill Greene), also posted in their thread about Bartow's prediction a "". Nothing more, nothing less. He seems to think he's in as well.

I almost don't want to pay attention to recruiting for the next few days, as Idk if my heart can take this last minute roller coaster, lol. Wednesday will have some phenomenal fireworks regardless of who we land and don't land.

I keep getting excited about the possibilities of this class but I also remind myself that if this class does get to 28 like some are projecting that means 7 current Buckeyes won't be on the team come August, whether through transfer, medical or other. These are guys whom we celebrated signing their LOIs these past few years. I think it's something worth keeping in mind . Bittersweet.

Doesn't the BIG have a rule where you can only sign as many LOIs to put you over by 3 on the 85 limit, and then you have to account back to the BIG office how you got back to 85? I didn't think the going over by 7 was possible, unless BIG rules have changed.

Just watched the National Championship game again on the film room. We have so much stinking talent on this football team it's crazy to think that all these great kids are coming in to add to it. Unbelievable time to be a Buckeye!!

Rules change, but my recollection is this:
The B1G used to only allow you so send out 25 LOIs on signing day to prevent the potential of having more than 25 come back signed. You had to wait until a kid declined to sign one before you could send out another. (we lost a kid back around 2002 for that very reason - somebody named Washington I believe changed his mind and the next in line had already signed) My understanding is that the 28 is an increase to that number.

But keep in mind that none of the kids who enrolled early will be signing LOIs for the 2015 academic year. We have no issues with a limit of 25. 85 is the only number we need to worry about and that rule is simply that only 85 kids on scholarship can be on the fall roster.

Also, if we sign 25 or something close to that it will limit the number of potential early enrollees from 2016.
