tOSU Recruiting Discussion

QB recruiting just got even more interesting with the Burrow commitment. Wonder if the recent 'red flags' regarding Gibson have the staff moving on to a Burrow/Waller combo for 2015. Personally, I'd be perfectly fine with that....
Agreed. The greatest athlete in the world isn't going to do you any good suspended/kicked off the team and good athletes can become legends if they consistently make the correct 'read' in Meyer's offense.

As much of an impact as the Burrow commit might have on other QBs, I think it may have a bigger impact on bringing in other players we are recruiting. After reading what Clark said relative to reevaluating us now that we have a QB in the fold, I have to wonder if it hurt the recruitment of Hentges not having someone on board earlier in the mix and not having an idea of who could be the guy delivering the ball to him. Does getting Burrow positively impact some of the WRs and maybe Boykin who are considering us?

I think it may depend on the perception of the QB in question. If burrows is viewed by the recruit as a pass first kid then I would think it positively impacts his decision process of the skill kids who want the ball thrown their way.

Sounds like we made some pretty good impressions this weekend. I really think we are closing in on a commitment from Hilliard and although there is no such thing as a make or break recruit, I believe Hilliard is as close as it gets in terms of talent/position of need/Ohio boy. It would be huge to have him in early and get this class off the ground. Also you have to think Kilby-Lane will likely commit soon and a class of Hilliard, Kilby-Lane, and Baker would be an elite LB class.

It also sounds like we put ourselves in good shape with two guys I didn't think had much interest in us in Cornell and Hines. And maybe we made up some ground on Scott and Daniels.

After much deliberation, I'm not buying Cornell having that much interest in tOSU just yet. Hope I'm wrong, but he's said that almost every school he's been to has impressed him. Another Barksdale perhaps?

Definitely guarded optimism with Cornell and I share your sentiment. However, I hadn't heard him mention us in quite some time, so just found it interesting we may be in the mix.

It is smart to have guarded optimism with regard to Cornell. However, he has already visited OSU (PSU game last year I believe) and had been trying to visit for a while but the never was able to get one lined up. So I think he has legit interest.

However, the fact that he is close with Justin Hilliard makes me extremely optimistic (if we do in fact land Hilliard in the next few months as seems to be the case).
