tOSU Recruiting Discussion

We already have Jalin Marshall and Taivon Jacobs committed. Shelton Gibson has been all-Buckeye since his recruitment began. Robert Foster is suddenly back on the radar. James Quick is becoming a more and more realistic possibility, with the Strong-to-Arkansas speculation growing by the day.

So what happens? How many spots do you think we'd allow to go to the three uncommitted recruits? Knowing team needs (like a few more OLinemen) and scholly limitations, I'd expect the staff to be issuing a "one more and we're closing up shop at WR" disclaimer to these guys.

Meyer needs/wants playmakers. Could additional turnover occur?

Chance of landing Ryan Timmons too, but I think his spot is based purely on how the chips fall with the others. Not a bad backup plan though

This has been on my mind pretty heavy too, wanting as many playmakers as we could land. But, 3 games into this season and I find myself thinking stronger about the OL and LB positions because they have not been all that impressive so far IMO. OL has been serviceable but not great. And we have been relatively injury free. I will be nervous about this position group all year.

I really want Quick and Foster.

If we can get just one of them, ill be really happy. No one seems to know whats going on with Foster. Is the staff still interested in him? Does he stay home? We'll have to just wait and see. I think Quick is going to Louisville unless strong leaves. Hopefully Strong goes to Arkansas.

Quick would be the perfect compliament to Jalin Marshall and Taivon Jacobs in this class. He's so solid and such a pure WR. As far as high school prospects go, I don't think there is another pure WR we took during the Tressel years that was better than Quick. With that said, the only high school "playmaker" we bought in during the Tressel years that was better than Marshall was Ginn, and Teddy was a once in a generation type of player. To bring in two WRs of that caliber in in the same recruiting class... with this head coach and the scheme he's implementing in Columbus... could be magical.

I hope Quick realizes what he could be a part of if he were to make his way to Columbus. He could be a part of something really special.
