If the B1G won those games it would be a big deal for the conference as well. But that hasn't been the case much.

2005-2010 a non-SEC school won the Cap1 5 of 6 years, the winners went on to be unranked twice, and in the top-10 just once in the preseason polls.
The very same bowl we're now applauding SCe for winning 2 of the last 3 years.
Winning the Cap1 Bowl is not an invite to the Top-10... nor should it be. Don't even get me started on the Outback Bowl.
And no team that gets blown out by 24 points at home in their first game should be ranked in the next...
