I think the point is that Spurrier trying to talk [Mark May] about anyone else OOC schedules is comedy
no ones making excuses for Ohio State state playing Florida A&M, it happens, but it happens about yearly for almost every SEC team not so much for Ohio State (I believe tOSU has played 3 games against FCS teams since the division split)
I agree, but my point is that every major team does it. No team can throw stones, OBC is just being himself and trolling, but OSU is every bit as guilty of the same scheduling practices. SEC elite teams get a pass for winning titles. That's why CFB is a joke and NFL is much better, no one can hide behind weak schedules. But I fully believe, if/when OSU wins a title, a lot of media types will be shutting the hell up and backing off of The Buckeyes. Winning cures all in sports, plain and simple.
On Memorial Day I go to some of Gator's old posts and place flowers…
Then I go to the Jane Fonda thread and take a long pee.
Are you kidding? His name recognition is enough to keep his job. No one had any hope for sc football before he got there, and they won't if he leaves. Even if that happens to be false hope, its enough. Spurrier gives sc a brand. Without him, they head for Kentucky territory. The ol' ball coach has seen a 20-7 lead with 7 minutes left turn into a 21-20 deficit - at home - versus Mizzou with less than 2 minutes on the clock.
How much longer does he keep this job, given his offensive wizardry hasn't materialized at South Carolina?

Lou Holtz won there, and as an $EC school they'll have no problem landing a coach.
Won there? He was 33-37/19-29. He had a decent season or two, but that's about it. I see what you are saying, but I look at the collapse at Tennessee after fat Phil left and see how far they could get buried.Lou Holtz won there, and as an $EC school they'll have no problem landing a coach.
He went 33-37. He peaked with 8-4 and 9-3 seasons in 2000-01, then went 16-19 his last three years. USCe was a doormat until, basically, the last few years.Lou Holtz won there, and as an $EC school they'll have no problem landing a coach.
