Uh didn't OSU play Florida A&M last year, an FCS bottom dweller? And Big 10 teams play FCs team from their own states yearly.
Arguing that youd rather have Kent St than Youngstown St is like arguing someone about having a fat wife, but saying at least she's not ugly. Neither team is relevant in the football landscape and is the same as aTm playing UTEP rather than Sam Houston St.
We're arguing and complaining about teams that when they play big time bowl games or play good OOC competition also tend to win. That's also not being brought up either. And Those game matter much more than playing FCS teams. At the end of the day I don't give a damn if OsU has a schedule of all FCS cellar dwellers and we win an NC, and I can bet money that no one else would care either.
The Florida A&M game came about when Vanderbilt cancelled.

In the meantime every one of Ohio State's NCs was one on the road and out of their region.

So what? There was a time in the not so recent past that Navy wouldn't have beaten those teams. Don't hate.

BG might win the MAC. NIU is down a bit since they graduated everyone of importance.

Your missing the forest for the trees. ESPiN controls the media narrative - even if the $EC$EC$EC didn't win the MNC, the onus would still be on the Big Ten to produce. FCS scheduling is crap, but let's not act like everyone isn't doing it, because they mostly are, it's not just a Big Ten issue.

You're missing my points Mike. Me talking about Navy's schedule, is just saying that yes they won 9games, but that doesn't make them a tough team and no stronger than scheduling any other team that beats up on cupcakes to pad their schedule.

My comment about BG was because who cares of they win the MAC, it's barely a pimple on the ass of college football. Are we supposed to make a big deal about the winner of the AAC too now?

And I completely agree with your last paragraph. That's all

No I'm intentionally ignoring it because the point made is pointless.

When did a Big 10 team win a National Championship tho?

We win, OBc shuts the hell up... Or at least moves his diatribe to another conference
2002. It was tOSU.

Ohio State could win all the titles, it won't change who's asking the question. Oversigning? Shhh...
Playing FCS teams in nov? LOOK HOW SOFT TOSU'S SCHEDULE IS!
Sparty won the Rose Bowl? I have no idea. I was watching Auburn come really close to beating that team that got lucky against Auburn.
Oklahoma beat Bama? Didn't Texas stomp OU? Bama ranked third next preaseason.

Yeah yeah yeah, I know all the points you've made. I hear what you're saying, but winning shuts everyone up. Media also complained about how weak the ACC as for years, and now no one says anything about FSu, though FSU played a terrible Syracuse team and an even worse Idaho team(haven't they only won about 2 games in 5yrs?) IN NOV! Fsu also plays The Citadel this upcoming year for OOC. But they won their conference and an NC and shut everyone up. That's what it takes. Complaining about scheduling means nothing and Urban knows that and lets fans get off on that. OSU wins an NC and no OSU fan gives a damn about over signing over schedules.

I think the point is that Spurrier trying to talk shit about anyone else OOC schedules is comedy

no ones making excuses for Ohio State state playing Florida A&M, it happens, but it happens about yearly for almost every SEC team not so much for Ohio State (I believe tOSU has played 3 games against FCS teams since the division split)

Winning won't shut Spurrier up. He might change targets, but the man has made a career out of talking shit and eventually mostly backing it up except when employed in the NFL.

All of it. Every bit of your post is 100% accurate.

I honestly think thats part of the Act...

@buckeyebri , I didn't see the OBC as Throwing stones, as he also stated that the SEC had "down the line" teams just like any other conference. He knows that schools like Vandy, UK and Tenn aren't on the same level as Auburn, Alabama, SC, LSU. Most of the time, the weak OOC schools are playing the big boys due to distance and money, I.e. Miami playing FAMU or Bethune Cookman, aTM(or UT)playing Rice, Sam Houston St or SMU, OSU playing Miami(Oh), OU or BG, it's all relative.

He shouldn't put SC on the same level as Auburn, Bama, LSU. Those are teams that have the capability of winning a national title just about any year if they start clicking. SC is can only make it to the SEC Championship game once in a blue moon and is never thought to be a national title contender. Somehow makes the top 10 a lot though, but that is more thanks to the 4 letter network than anything else. Given they aren't Vandy, UK or Tenn, they are somewhere in the middle.

btw the SEC tends to schedule cellar dweller FCS teams, which makes it even worse, you rarely see an SEC team play a "top caliber" FCS school

FWIW - the Dawgs are contractually obligated to throw Georgia Southern a bone (sorry, couldn't resist) once every three years. Board of regents, allocation of funds and all that blah blah blah...
It's a pure political decision, but works out pretty well since they're a fairly competitive program.
