So maybe he wasn't just joking around...

“I tell you what, we had another sorry practice today. These guys, I don’t know if we are going to be able to beat anybody this year,” said Spurrier, “Quarterbacks, they can’t hit the broad side of a barn right now,” and that was just the beginning.

“Receivers – they couldn’t catch a cold if it was the middle of February, dropping everything. Defensive backs, gosh I wonder why they got grass stains on their jerseys they fall about every play, about two or three of them are falling. And our kickers, gee it’s like the Army. Left, right, left, right, they’re kicking it all over the place,” Spurrier was obviously joking in his assessment of his players, although Gamecock fans might say an extra prayer or two when they go to bed tonight.

Retiring mid season?

I wouldn't be surprised if a 'health' announcement is made sometime in the next few months.

He looked old and agitated on the sideline this past weekend. Granted I haven't seen a lot of South Carolina games this year, but from memory of seeing Spurrier on the sidelines at Florida and early on at South Carolina, something seemed different.
