Which would be comical, given that they can bolt without penalty, and frankly UM might not hold them to their signature (and it wouldn't even require using the first free transfer)

Weis made so much money from bamboozling ND and then Kansas, that he has no serious reason to ever coach another game in his life! And coaching takes away from valuable buffet time. Those chocolate fountains and fried chicken won't eat themselves

not shockingly there is still a group of DFBIA who are pretending all of this is "totally normal" behavior by coaches who definitely are not going anywhere.

The Stan Drayton - Mike Weber situation isn't an option here. If he bolts, Michigan probably doesn't hold them to the LOI, and they get to become a HS signee again.
If he stays, they can still use their 1 free transfer.
That's what's so transparent about this, there's no big gain to dragging this out. There's everything to lose, other than spite or career advancement.
They can't hold kids hostage like you could before. And 14 of the recruits are already in school, including will johnson.

Our positive momentum from beating OSU, winning B10 and achieving the CFP is now gone with Harbaugh testing the NFL market for weeks. This was the worst case scenario for us to ever turn the tide and recruit elite talent in the 2023+ classes... UGH! Why cant we have nice things.

My best guess: because we want it all (academics, prestige, on-field success, the Michigan Man coach) -- and no one can have it all?

It certainly looks like Hairball is a bitter ex-Gf who was just dumped by her BF, and he cheated on her with her best friend.
If he really gave a damn about the program, he would've just ripped the band aid off, by making a decision quickly so scUM could replace, or by coming back and resuming his position. But by taking an interview on the day of NSD, and THEN having your staff take a vacation, its an ultimate middle finger to the program as a whole... And I love every minute!
