Rock Band/Guitar Hero Thread

Rock Band DLC for 05/20:

Beetlebum as made famous by Blur (cover)

Hier Kommt Alex by Die Toten Hosen (master)

Countdown to Insanity by H-BlockX (master)

Perfekte Welle by Juli (master)

Manu Chao by Les Wampas (master)

Hysteria by Muse (master)

Rock N Roll Star by Oasis (master)

New Wave by Pleymo (master)

I'm definitely getting the Muse and Oasis tracks :banger:

I may get the Blur one, but it is a cover.

I'm not familiar with the other songs, because they are European.

Anyone had any experience dealing with EA trying to return faulty equipment?
I bought a new guitar for the 4th instrument about a month ago, got it out of the box and it was having Overdrive problems (Never executed without hitting the Select key). Took that one back to Gamestop, they bitched big time even though I was purchasing another game and guitar. Got the 2nd guitar and the orange key was constantly showing as depressed in game, even after resetting the PS3, trying to pry the button up, turning guitar off, etc. Also, the 2nd guitar's Overdrive didn't work either. I checked online and saw that other people had the same problem with buttons getting stuck, took their guitars apart and fiddled with it a bit, no problems afterwards. I did the same to mine and now I only have an Overdrive problem.

Anyway, theres a few sites people have created with mods/fixes for Rockband hardware, if you don't feel like waiting weeks for a new part and don't mind voiding the warranty. I'm going to use the site to fix my guitar's Overdrive, installing a Mercury Switch to replace the crap "ball in tube" system. By all accounts, the Mercury Switch seems to work like a dream when properly installed, no issues with Overdrive not executing regularly

Guitar Hero 4: Guitar Hero 4 Drums Revealed

Here is what the drums for GH4 will look like:

guitarherodrums.jpg

There is no way in hell I'm buying another set of drums/guitars to store around here. Plus, GH3 was horrible because Activision/Neversoft suck at this type of franchise. They made GH3 not even that fun and their DLC will never be as good as Rock Band's.

I like GH 3 better then the rest of them actually. It's a lot more challenging, and the game speed is faster then on others. Having a 360 flashed and importing your own songs for the game destroys all future games...JMO..

I agree, unless I see something completely awesome from Guitar Hero, I'm probably done with the franchise after the Aerosmith game comes out. I was pretty disappointed in GH3, after Rock Band came out I haven't touched GH. I don't need a new set of drums either, my drums work fine and I got my 2nd Rockband guitar working pretty good.
If Guitar Hero was able to put out the high level of download content like Rockband, complete with the original tracks, I may have stayed with them. Personally, even if I could add my own songs to the game, I don't have time to spend setting up the required buttons and whatnot to play the damn thing. I could see it taking 3-5 hours to finish a song that way, and thats just for hard mode. I'd rather spend $1.99 and have it done for me (And have it turn out better than I could do).

For anyone who plays the drums regularly I really recommend getting the pads. It's so nice to be able to play without hearing all the clicking and clacking and the drums seem more responsive.

Tomorrow is Tuesday, and you?re in luck. You aren?t just going to have one track pack available to download, but Harmonix is feeling particularly saucy and tossing up tracks from both Jimmy Buffett and Disturbed for your rocking pleasure. Hit the jump for the track listing.

Jimmy Buffett ?Margaritaville?
Jimmy Buffett ?Cheeseburger In Paradise?
Jimmy Buffett ?Volcano?
Disturbed ?Indestructible?
Disturbed ?Inside The Fire?
Disturbed ?Perfect Insanity?
All six of these tracks are master recordings, however, Jimmy Buffett re-recorded all three of his songs just for Rock Band, so don?t expect the same old Cheeseburger In Paradise. His track pack will go for the standard $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) with individual songs at $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) each.

If Disturbed is more your thing and you?re thinking about buying the CD, your best bet is to head over to Best Buy and grab it. If you do, you?ll be able to download two of the three songs for free in Rock Band. Only Perfect Insanity isn?t included. Those not buying the album can still download them at a nice price, as the pack will set you back only $2.99 (240 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) or $.99 per track (80 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360).

hey BuckNutty, how are those drum covers overall? Response and sensitivity still the same?

I'm not going to invest in this yet, as my drums are fucking terrible. It isn't even fun to play them, due to the production quality of my particular set. I play at my brothers (PS3 version) and can play most of the songs on hard without and trouble. But, when I play at my house on my 360, it's a damn struggle. They better still send me (at least) new drum pads, because my drums are shit.
