Rock Band/Guitar Hero Thread

Remind me to never play the versus mode again. I just beat a kid 4 straight times and you could actually hear the disappointment in his voice, followed by "What song do you want to play? You're going to crush me no matter what I pick."

I feel like shit.

So when this kid grows up with no self esteem, turns to drugs to ease the pain, gets addicted, can't buy drugs so he resorts to theft and prostitution to fund his habit, catches HIV from a dirty needle, gets arrested and dies a slow, painful death at a young age in the prison infirmary, the world can blame you, you sick fuck!

Another less than stellar week, IMO.

Harmonix and MTV Games just sent next weeks Rock Band DLC our way, and the three-pack of late ?70 and 90?s rock should satisfy any hungry Rock Band fans appetite.

Hanging On The Telephone, from Blondie?s third album Parallel Lines (1978) pairs well with Train in Vain from The Clash?s 1979 album London Calling. Kool Thing, from the 1990 album Goo by Sonic Youth finishes off the three song set. Each track is available for $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points). The entire set is available for $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points). All three songs are original master recordings.

Rock Band DLC At A Glance

Release date: Tuesday, May 13, 2008 (Xbox Live Marketplace)
Thursday, May 15, 2008 (PLAYSTATION?Store)

Tracks: ?Hanging On The Telephone? (Blondie)
?Train in Vain (Stand by Me)? (The Clash)
?Kool Thing? (Sonic Youth)

information is starting to leak out about Guitar Hero 4 already (supposedly due for Fall 08).

They are having the guitar/bass/drums/mic like Rock Band. Activision is claiming that their drums will be much superior to RBs (which can't be too hard  )

Also, Activision has confirmed the following bands:

  • Van Halen
  • The Eagles
  • Linkin Park
  • Sublime
Not bad at all, especially with Sublime, Eagles, and VH.

IMO, this is good news for Guitar Hero. I've been looking forward to the Aerosmith game for some time, but aside from that I wasn't planning on touching a Guitar Hero game after that. We've got a full band for Rock Band now, and the fact we're getting new songs every week is a big plus. For the most part they're releasing some good stuff, I hope they can keep up with the pace though.
