Rock Band/Guitar Hero Thread

I'm looking to trying Guitar Hero: On tour for the DS.
I was interested in it too until I saw the track list. Only 25 songs, and half of them are rehashed from GH III, including some of the ones that make me want to jab pencils in my ears, like Hit Me With Your Best Shot and Rock N Roll All Nite.

Fuck that. All these songs were OK in moderation, but until you've spent Christmas morning hearing my (then) 7 year old son struggle with Slow Ride for 8 solid hours, you just cannot fathom my level of contempt for most of the songs on GH III now.

I figured you to be smart enough to by the kid some head phones.

RB released The Pixies "Dolittle" album today, as well as 3 Weezer songs from their new Red Album.

The Red Album fucking sucks, so I have no desire for the DLC once again.

I'm getting real fucking tired of them releasing good artists, but their worst songs. That's what's going to kill this game.

The problem is, their target audience doesn't know who the fuck these people are. My sister had never heard of Alice Cooper, and thought the songs in GH3 were boring.

Imagine what it'd be like if they released songs that all the teens listen to now. It'd be a bunch of horrible pussy emo "rock", which would cause me to burn my peripherals and never play a music/rhythm game again.

Would kinda defeat the purpose of it being a "guitar" related game, as none of those bands have even a hint of talent. Course I honestly think they are better off aiming those games toward the 18-35 range, and not younger kids. Or maybe put the newer stuff on the Wii and DS version since everything else on there is for 3 year olds anyway

Beat GH Aeromith on Hard in about 2 1/2 hours. Songs are way too easy. 5* on almost all of the songs except the last few (I don't think there was a single time I was in the yellow let alone getting booed off stage). Expert will be next, but I am sure I will be able to get past all of them too in no time. In comparison, I still struggle on GH3 with a few songs in hard and of course many more in expert.

If you are an Aerosmith fan, pick it up. Otherwise, skip this one.

Worst song list in GH history imo...Cat Scratch Fever is the only song I have any desire to play. I can play that on frets on fire for free...I must have misunderstood the "other influencial bands" having songs on the game. There aren't that many that aren't aerosmith, and the songs that aren't pretty much suck...Thumbs down for activision

How were the note charts? GH3's charts were complete shit, making the game nearly impossible.
