Didn't they say that next year's class wouldn't have to worry about it?

I could be wrong, just thought I heard that from a credible source.

Either way, would that insurance policy cover how much he'd get if he were drafted in the top 15?

That is true, Roger G. (NFL commish) made such a statement earlier this week. This years juniors don't have to worry about loosing millions due to any new CBA.

I reasearched from 78 on as best I could and if his statement was correct Beanie is the only player since to have scored 3 td's in 3 games vs scUM (this doesn't include passing for, only rushing or receiving).

So Beanie could come back and be the only player in the history of The Game to score a TD in 4 seperate editions.

that doesn't make any sense to me, why wouldn't you include passing?

I dunno, ask the guy who put it in his book. He seems to define "scoring" as rushing/receiving.

IIRC when I looked it up the only QB's who would have joind the list were Troy and maybe Art S.

Regardless, Beanie could be the first OSU player in history to score a td in 4 different scUM games. Of that I am sure.

Yep, and one of them just got taken with Shonn Greene declaring. Moreno should be next to declar and Beanie will after that.

There's NO UPSIDE to him coming back IMO.

Just had an idea. Tell Beanie that the Lions are going to take him with the number one pick. No way he goes pro at that point.

Seriously though, Momma wanted him to go to Ohio State. He went to Ohio State. Momma wants him to graduate. Who knows? I did watch his interview. I think he is truly torn. You can see he wants to come back. Its going to come down whether he listens to his head or his heart. Either way you have to love a coach that would like to see him come back but still push him to do what is best for the player. Also you have to love a player that loves his school and team so much that when given an opportunity to become an instant multi millionaire he has to think about it.

The teams that need RBs pick either pretty darn high or later in the draft.

If he doesnt test exceptionally, there is a good change he will drop into the 15-25 range.

There are alot of bad teams that could use an upgrade at RB, but they also have much more glaring holes. Unless you are getting an elite, potential immortal RB like Adrian Peterson, Im not sure if teams picking Top 5 or Top 10 are going to go with taking an RB that high..

Beanie has an fantastic skill set, but he's also got the injury plagued label attached to him, isnt a particularly good pass blocker, and doesnt catch balls out of the backfield.. Peterson had the injury tag too, but to be honest Adrian is probably a step above any back we've seen in recent history.

I dunno, if Beanie runs a 4.4 at 240 pounds or something, I could see him going top 10, but there is also a strong change he won't go until mid to late first round which is a big difference money wise.

If he comes back to OSU, he has a shot to be captain, win a Heisman, finish very very high on the all-time rushing list at Ohio St.. he can basically go from being a back we all remember as being great, to a back that we all remember as a legend at Ohio St..

A healthy season could possibly cement him Top 10 money next yr

It's a tough call.

Another issue is whether the offense will be geared towards him next season.. Im of the belief that Tressel wants to make Pryor the main focus and move to a total spread offense. I would think he'd want to set something up like we had with Troy and Pittman. If Beanie comes back does that force Tressel to stick with a more under center, power run game?? And is that in our best interest?

Or could Beanie except being second fiddle in the offense, and getting 15-20 carries per game?

How many seasons does a running back get to spend in the prime of his career? Not many. If he decides to come back, it would only be too human for him to question his decision at some point during next season. Although it's refreshing to hear him talk about his obligations to this team as if he is caretaker, it is futile to suppress the reality that he is the caretaker for his biological family and that no accolade would ever put food on the table for them.

Whatever he does, I will support his decision 100%.

As we all will.

I agree, both options are something I would support for anybody. I can see in some way him wanting to stay because this guy just loves playing for his team. He is one of my favorite players ever no matter what happens. If only half the guys had the dedication beanie possess. When I saw him weeping after the big game I wanted to cry too! If this is his last game as a buckeye I have no doubt beanie will play with die hard intensity!

Would love to see Beanie come back and re-write the record books. Such a classy kid who always seems to say/do the right thing. You can tell he loves being a buckeye and doesn't want to leave. I could see him coming back to OSU either way, Archie taking him under his wing to set him up as the next face of the buckeyes.
