The teams that need RBs pick either pretty darn high or later in the draft.
If he doesnt test exceptionally, there is a good change he will drop into the 15-25 range.
There are alot of bad teams that could use an upgrade at RB, but they also have much more glaring holes. Unless you are getting an elite, potential immortal RB like Adrian Peterson, Im not sure if teams picking Top 5 or Top 10 are going to go with taking an RB that high..
Beanie has an fantastic skill set, but he's also got the injury plagued label attached to him, isnt a particularly good pass blocker, and doesnt catch balls out of the backfield.. Peterson had the injury tag too, but to be honest Adrian is probably a step above any back we've seen in recent history.
I dunno, if Beanie runs a 4.4 at 240 pounds or something, I could see him going top 10, but there is also a strong change he won't go until mid to late first round which is a big difference money wise.
If he comes back to OSU, he has a shot to be captain, win a Heisman, finish very very high on the all-time rushing list at Ohio St.. he can basically go from being a back we all remember as being great, to a back that we all remember as a legend at Ohio St..
A healthy season could possibly cement him Top 10 money next yr
It's a tough call.
Another issue is whether the offense will be geared towards him next season.. Im of the belief that Tressel wants to make Pryor the main focus and move to a total spread offense. I would think he'd want to set something up like we had with Troy and Pittman. If Beanie comes back does that force Tressel to stick with a more under center, power run game?? And is that in our best interest?
Or could Beanie except being second fiddle in the offense, and getting 15-20 carries per game?
