QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

Tebow was a true soph. Underclassmen. Sam was in his 'junior' year of eligability.
Bradford was a redshirt sophomore. So, sophomore year of eligibility. He might have been a junior academically (I don't have any idea what his academic standing was), but he still had two years of eligibility left after he won the Heisman.

Whatever, 3rd year in college. I think we knew where I was going.

From the article funny how it begins to ponder if an ineligible team can/should have eligibility for individual awards.

I think it should come into play slightly because of reduced pressure but unless that player did something wrong there is no rational argument that would eliminate him from individual awards.

What the quesiton loosely implies or leads to in conversation is if the player has to be on a conference winning team, is it the best player on the best team award?

Good to see Braxton in number 2.
The answer to that would be: What pressure was RGIII under?

Pete Fiutak makes an argument why Braxton is more deserving than Smith based on doing more with less, it's about halfway down if you don't want to read the whole thing.

?You cannot powder away what botox can fix. My name is Tamar, and I am for plastic surgery.? ? I?m now going to attempt to adjust my I-don?t-really-believe-my-own-case argument ? formerly known as the ?Boise State should be in the national title discussion? lost cause ? for why Braxton Miller is actually the best player in college football at the midseason.

Geno is really going to have to fall off the wagon for Miller to win the H this year. I don't really see this happening. Kid is a stud and so is Miller. Who knows, could happen. Could be a close race.

I've wondered...if WVA drops a game or two and OSU goes undefeated, does this turn into a close race (assuming both players keep having big games)? I could see WVA dropping two easily with Texas Tech, TCU, Oklahoma, Iowa State, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State left on the schedule. And Braxton IS this entire offense and he has already put together a freak highlight reel. I think he has a legit shot.

RG3 proved that staggering stats may cause Heisman voters to overlook W-L columns. I think it's going to take a couple of legitimately bad game from Smith to not win this year. And here's a stat for you, if Smith wins the Heisman this year, he would become the fifth B12 QB to win in the last twelve years, and that's not including the guy who should have won in 2006.
