Zwick will have to screw up bad not to start the Texas game! Can Tress really start a kid, Smith who has caused so much trouble? And Boeckman, Pleeze! He hasn't played a down in a NCAA game! Tress would have to be smokin some Hawaiian to start anyone other than Zwick!

And I'm rootin for Smith!

Sounds like you've been smokin' a little yourself, Trashman. Had Clarett played a down when he started against Texas Tech as a true frosh? I've you've been paying attention the last four months or so, you'd know that Boeckman was very impressive throughout spring camp. The staff last season was considering removing his redshirt. He's been with the program two years. I think he's ready, if called upon.

He grayshirted in 2003 (doesn't count towards his 5 years) and last year was his redshirt (counts towards his 5 years), so this year he's a reshirt freshman (4 years of eligibility).

Received a PM from one of our members that said the according to a former backup QB who played under Tressel while JT was OSU's QB/WR coach, and that the former player, quote: "talked to Tressel last week and as of that time Zwick will start the Miami and probably Texas game as well."

Zwick is going to start the Texas game and I think with the talent we have on offense and defense we are going to win that game. Zwick has the tools that he was lacking last year..

1. He has one more year of experience
2. He has better receivers/TE, OL and probably a better running attack. So I believe that's going to translate into Zwick throwing TD's and win the game.
3. Also our defense is better and so may be they get an interception, better filed position etc..

And if Zwick wins against Texas and follows it up with Iowa, he will cement his position as the starting QB for the season.

Let's see how TS reacts if he doesn't get a chance to start.

As for me I don't care who is the QB as long as we go to Pasadena for New year's.

Everything applies to Smith..but once Zwick wins the texas game as a starter, he is going to start the Iowa game as well..and if he wins that he is going to cement his place as a starter for the season.

fyi, I don't care who starts as long as we win the games. I am just thinking that Tressel isn't going to change QB's if Zwick starts and wins against Texas. As long as Zwick does enough to not lose the game and keep winning..he's going to stregthen his hold on the QB position.
