QB Kyle McCord (transfer to Syracuse)

I don't remember any pouring rain during the game, just a drizzle off and on. It was clear most of the game
First half there was some rain, not pouring rain but enough to perhaps make it harder to sling it. As I recall, in the second half it pretty much stopped altogether.

As for McCord, you would think IU will not be nearly as difficult as the season openers CJ had with Minny on the road at night and a tough ND defense albeit at home. On that note though, not sure if IU returns much of a secondary to speak of this season but Stroud did shred them for 5 passing TD's last year. So I would imagine McCord or Brown would have a favorable matchup to start, then Youngstown State and Western Kentucky to follow, which should be ideal to establish a rhythm prior to ND in Week 4. Not saying there won't be hiccups in those first 3 games but at least we aren't playing a top 10 team in the first few weeks like in most recent years past.

For the record, I don't see much rain, yet. I'm halfway through the first quarter, though.

The camera appears wet in some shots. So maybe there's some rain.

Going into the 3rd quarter I haven't seen any rain. Helmets seem pretty dry.

Anyway, I have no new opinions to add. I pretty much agree that most fans didn't seem to want to give Stroud any time to get into his position. And they should have relaxed and trust the coaches.

After their RB went down, there was no hope left for them. I don’t know that the weather, good / bad / otherwise would have mattered. Not that I would wish injury on any kid from The U — unless we’re discussing basketball players who eventually play in MLB — but, when he went down, the game was going to be very different.

Go ahead and say it. Dave Winfield should never be honored by BTN.

Ohio State's Kyle McCord inks NIL deal with Rhoback, Buckeye fans get special offer

Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord may not have won the starting quarterback job but he does have a new NIL deal. It was announced on Thursday that McCord has signed an exclusive apparel deal with Roback, an activewear apparel company, that will include a base fee plus revenue share.

“We are excited to join Kyle McCord's team as his official apparel sponsor," a Rhoback spokesperson said in a statement announcing the deal with McCord. "The New Jersey native, and new face of Rhoback U will lead the program this Fall and pave a new legacy for himself. Kyle's love for the game and desire to compete immediately stood out and we couldn't be more excited to introduce Kyle to the Rhoback community. Be on the look out for fun content, showcasing both Kyle's impressive talent and fun personality. We are proud to be a part of Kyle's team as he helps take Rhoback U to the next level.”

All of this hinges on both quarterbacks being equal. This brings us to McCord, to this the most important two-week stretch of his career. He has been battling Brown for the starting job since the spring. He has two weeks left to win the job, otherwise, he will effectively end his Ohio State career. Whether it’s at Ohio State or elsewhere I think McCord will be successful and maybe even an NFL Draft pick, but the chances of that happening at Ohio State are getting slimmer and slimmer by the second.
