Kienholz isn't in the same class as Fields as far as athleticism! The next most athletic QB I've ever seen at OSU was Pryor, and those 2 are ahead pretty much anyone else with their combo of speed and strength. If at any point in the season OSU has to go to Kienholz to start, then OSU would be lucky to finish in the top 5 in the B1G east. In no way do the nice HS highlights that Kienholz had make me think that he's ready for elite B1G football play. He played in ND, and I don't think even went to many camps. He's going to need time, and there's nothing wrong with that.
McCord is good, really good! Every time a new starter comes up in CFB, fans would rather see a freshman who had a nice star ranking. Not realizing that this is still a frosh, and many aren't ready, even the best in HS. I call this the "shiny new toy theory". For example, fans actually fixed their mouths to say that Stroud should've been benched after the Oregon loss in favor of Quinn Ewers. That was an insane opinion to me, it's hard enough to play as a true frosh, and even harder at the QB position. McCord will be fine once he's able to work with a healthy stable of skill position players, and no one has seen him play with them as a whole yet. OSU fans saw McCord play with the following players as his "starters" in the Spring game:
RB- Chip Trayanum
WR- X Johnson, Tate, Harrison(slot for a few series), Grayes
Not exactly a roster that Day would trot against any level of competition in conference. McCord is more than capable of running for a few yards in the open field, just like Stroud eventually showed. As long as he can keep the defense honest, he'll see success
