QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

There are 64 jobs in the NFL ..some college stars flame out, some unknowns make it, Cardale's strengths are physical but if he thinks he is working hard now..he doesn't have a clue what it takes in the NFL. Unless he has a horse shoe and has a Kubiak like career.

Again, have you seen some of the bums 'making it' in the NFL? Cardale will get drafted and he'll find a roster spot. 6'5" 250lb QBs don't grow on trees.

6'5" 250lb QB's don't necessarily mean guaranteed success, either. Look at Jeremy Johnson.

They guarantee getting drafted. Even if Al Davis is dead. And compared to all of us sitting around our computers, that's success. He'll make more money showing up, than most of us could hope for in our lifetimes. It isn't a Joe Montana or bust situation. 3 years on the bench in the NFL makes him a wealthy man.

I don't know if Cardale can be a "successful" NFL QB, but he can almost certainly make a lot of money trying.
If "making it" means, earning an NFL checkm than I fully agree with this statement.
But @Saw31 , if you think Cardale is going to start and see much on field success, then you might need to remove your glasses with a Scarlet tint. Troy Smith was one of the best QBs to play in S&G, and he started a handful of games, and then moved on to the CFL, and Cardale doesn't have close to the accuracy or ability to read defenses like Troy. And Troy didn't have the size or arm of Cardale... Its not all about physical attributes in the NFL like it is in college.

Start naming the QBs coming out this year that would be better prospects...
There were scouts on record in the last few years that claimed that you could use one hand to count the pro style QBs coming through the ranks in any grade. Cardale will absolutely get drafted. Whether he collects much of that paycheck is another matter.

I never said a word about starting. I'm talking about what the word success means.

We have a list of spread QBs that may or may not grade out better than Cardale when the time comes.

Cardale's strengths are exactly what the NFL wants. His size is exactly what they want. His arm is exactly what they want.

He's played 10 games as a square peg in a round hole in this offense. He'll get his shot.

My fault, when I reread your posts I see that you made no mention of starting when you mentioned him "making it". He does have the attributes that coaches and GMs drool over, so like I also said, he'll get drafted and get a nice paycheck, but I see him being more of a journeyman. Which honestly I'd be fine with for a career.. But the fact that he's been playing in the wrong offense for his talents, further may stunt his QB progression

Goddamn right. LOL. Journeyman = small chance of injuries too. Sit on the bench, learn, never get injured, become a 40 year old Rich Gannon playing in a Super Bowl, and bank the whole time. Then do the Trent Dilfer gig the rest of your career.

I think its a no-brainer he'll get drafted. I believe he'll get a roster spot. That's big time success considering where he was one year ago, and is out of this world success compared to 99% of the population. He's got to get that roster spot though...

But, if I'm wrong I'm wrong. Won't be the first time today. LOL

I can agree with that. I was just merely pointing out the fact that this may be one of the more crowded NFL drafts for QBs. All of those guys have higher QBR's and better TD:INT ratio. So where he is drafted is the ultimate question I wanted to raise with that list. IMO, he goes somewhere in round 3 or 4.
